Yep, once she'd crossed the line I just quietly muttered "Jesus" to myself. It was poetry.

Gollan commented after the run that he was very happy, she jumped well, rolled along and never gave any other others a chance. He's not happy with her level of fitness though so she's going to keep working and have another jump in 2 weeks. So, depending on how that goes it'll probably be 3 -4 weeks before she starts in a race. Just in time for a warm up race or two and then down to Sydney for Spring.

    I hope. :D

She had a jump out this morning at Doomben. Stepped away, led, "she held together beautifully", when asked for a bit she dashed away from them and ran through the line well.

She was blowing pretty heavily and the trainer said she's still too fat so they'll work on her fitness over the next 10 days in preparation for her first start back over 1050m at Doomben the weekend after next. He reckons she'll be fine to go.

Unfortunately, a trip to Sydney for a Spring carnival is looking unlikely the way things are panning out - fingers crossed.

Vision available, most pleasing aspect is she didn't want to overrace and she went out without ear-muffs, I don't know if that's just because it was a jump out or not. I'd say she'll probably still wear them pre-race when racing but it might mean she settles better than she has in previous campaigns.

What race is the Doomben one.

edit: I see she’s nominated Race 6 on the 28th. Will she jump in that race or be pushed back to a later meet.

At this stage that's where she's running.

Gollan has another horse in the same race The Move, who looks pretty handy. I don't know much about him but a quick look at some of the vision and he'll probably have to run her down as she's likely to get the jump but of course that depends upon the barrier draw and hopefully Maloney is steering. Gollan does a meeting preview called The Final Gallop on his FB page Gollan Racing, and on Vimeo. Watch that later in the week.

Did some good work over 1000m this morning, still a bit chubby, the trainer said she had a bit of a blow afterwards but she's got fresh legs and Maloney will ride her this Saturday.

Any chance of getting what her last two trial times were and over what distance?

Can't help you with the jump-out last week, trial over 1000m 2 weeks ago was 0-57.81. She's carrying 57kg, The Move will give 3.5kg. The track is currently a Soft 5.

Terrible barrier, but she needs this run to set her up for a southern campaign. I’m thinking she’ll run anyway, is the best horse by a country mile in the field , but she’s not worth the odds available.

If all horses start and they won’t she’ll either jump quickly and settle in or close to the lead or she’ll settle handy. If she does the former she’s there to win, if she does the latter she’s there’s for the hit out.

$3.50 from her barrier is what she’s worth IMO

She's come in a couple with scratchings. Trainer was looking for an alternative start but as I thought there's nothing. He says it'll come down to the first corner, if she can jump and position well she'll give a good showing. Odds are pretty crap at the moment considering.

I did my dough. Oh well will watch out for the next jump. The Move looks like another good horse.

Friday Eagle Farm R 7, a BM72 over 1000m. Down in grade for reasons that the trainer has not shared with us. I can only think he wasn't happy with her last start, despite what he and the jockey said post-race.

    Disappointing.

He identified this race a couple of weeks ago so nothing has changed since her last run. Hopefully she's not as fat. And she's odds-on again.

Scratched. Wide draw and the rail out 11.5m means she'll have too much work to do. She'll go to Toowommba the following weekend in the BM70 over 1000m.

Following up from her last race in Toowoomba where she finished third and displayed a breathing irregularity on finishing, they scoped her back in Brisbane that afternoon and again later in the week and found she had mucous and an inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. Dead set these things wouldn't survive long in the wild. Anyway, the trainer has nominated her in 2 races this week. The first is a $25000 Class 4 at Ipswich on Friday over 1100m, the second is a $75000 class 6 at Eagle Farm over 1000m on Saturday.

She'll be running with a tongue-tie on first time and because oxygen fuels these things (it's like when we put snorkels on our fourbies) the tongue-tie will keep her airways open allowing her to suck in more air. My preference is the 1100m at Ipswich because I want to see how she goes at 1100m with the tongue tie, because ideally I'd like to see her get out to 1200m down the track. She'll likely start short though so it won't be a betting race I'd say.

Remember "The Last Gallop" on Vimeo this Thursday evening for the latest from the stable.

Barrier draw is out. Barrier 1 at Ipswich and 12 at Brissy so I'd say she'll go around Ipswich. She'll be short, likely odds-on I reckon. There'll probably be a bit of a speed battle with Ashzaya drawn along side her and 4.5kg better off so it'll be interesting to see how fast Ashzaya is out of the barrier.
