Mintage was 1000. Obviously big dealers like APMEX, Gainsville, Talisman etc would've gotten a lion's share of allocation. Then you also have other overseas dealers and mints, like Germany. Add in post offices and local coin shops... How many sets are actually left?? My guess is PM had less than 300 sets for sale directly. Then taking into account online sales, phone sales and walk in sales at the PM shop, ... we could be looking at maybe only 100 sets for sale online! Imagine 100,000 people from all over the world trying to access the PM online shop trying to buy this 100 sets... Recipie for disaster!
Yep, tell me about it, went on line after waiting for them to reappear after the first offering in the early hours of the morning, got them into my cart, made payment and was told my order would take 29 minutes to complete, then with 5 minutes to go I was informed they were out of stock. What a con job, then you ring their new online service number for it to ring off, yep realy pissed off, won't be using them again , not worth the hasssssssellllll.
Still more than 200 Sets available : http://www.silber-corner.de/de/Lunar-II-Schlange-3-Coin-Proof-Set-Box-CoA (334,90 Euro)
Even better for people outside of Germany, remove VAT and it comes to 312,99 EUR per set. Inc. forex fees, excluding delivery, roughly AUD391. Group buy?
Yes you are right, unless you keep the order < $1000, which means 2 x 3-coin sets + postage (which I believe is 30 Euros to Australia). And that particular site does remove VAT for people who specify their mailing address as in Australia.
