I'm putting together the s2 gilded set, do you guys think its better to try get a display case or keep them in their original shippers/individual display cases?

Full set would look infinitely better in a display case. Something like what Chickeman is doing would look great. Much better than the plasticy official PM display case for sure

Make sure all original packaging are kept with them. (ie- Coas , boxes)
You cant sell them in the future for good price if they are lost.

Not only do you have to keep the COAs and the Boxes, you have to keep them with the coins, otherwise they will get split up somewhere along the way.

I am making a box for my Lunar Dragons. The top level of the box, where the coins are displayed, will lift out and underneath will be all the original boxes and COAs etc. This is the only way I know to keep them all together and display them nicely. I have quite a large display area so the boxes underneath only add about 2.5cm to the overall hieght of the box and not much weight.

I would post pictures but at the moment they are just scribles on the back of an envelope until I work out the easiest way to make it.

That's a good idea but I've always pretty much kept the coins separate from the COAs and whatnot as they are at home while the coins are in storage

WoW, seriously thanks a lot, it's abit pricey for what it looks like but I really might get it, not worth paying for the shipping on its own though :) if you know what I mean

For some reason I started buying coins in presentation boxes, I think they were going for spot price as I am not overly interested in the themes. I never actually look at them.

The boxes take up too much room in the safe and having a draw full of empty boxes is too tempting for my wife to clear out.

I would just keep the COAs as they can be put in a folder but the plastic boxes and the cardboard outersleeves are also wanted by collectors and although the cardboard sleeves collapse, the plastic boxes don't.

Some of the old boxes are tatty anyway and I should probably throw them away and melt the coins down for scrap but I feel obliged to keep them! As it is the coins are no longer in the safe as I needed the space for bullion. At least they only take up one space.

I like the idea of having a display case more than the reality of having a display case. I am only going to have to lock it up in the safe anyway, it will take up even more space than before and how often am I going to open it up and have a look at the coins? Whenever I add a new coin to the series?

I am leaning towards a picture frame. Other than the weight of course it seems like a good solution. The coins are always on display, they aren't taking up any shelf or safe space and if someone wants to pinch them, well, I have more expensive paintings on the wall and they are not secured in any way.

Well if you are goinng to pay for postage you might as well throw a few coins in as well, it makes sound financial sense!
