My local post office has about 5 proof 1oz Perth Mint dragons at $112.50 each. I haven't been following the proof hype but what are these currently selling at and is it worth picking a few up for the forum members if he is happy to sell more than one per customer?

Place is shut now of course but I will go down tomorrow and see what he has left and if he is willing to sell them all to one customer. Actually I will email him tonight and see if he will reserve them.

That is not to bad, ebay fees are around 10% with paypal and no waiting to sell it.

I may sell mine for 200, when it arrives, just unsure if the price will go up or down in the future as it is my first proof coin purchase.

ie not sure if these coins will be wanted in the future, just looked an ok buy on the day.

I will take one set from the OP for 150 + 8 delivery :).

will goes up definitely, Proof set have limit mintage not like BU coins, and every lunar collector will grab one piece to fill up their collection. furthermore, as far as I know, perth mint have contracts with other countries, those Proof silver edition and coloured edition will be sold to them firstly which means the real number in aussie must less than 10,000.
I've got 10 pieces 1 oz coloured dragon and 10 pieces 1/2 oz all running numbers.

158 from OP site is fair enough but they will make delivery end of this month I think :)

Qld. The owner is a friend who also has an interest in collecting coins so he usually has a far better range than most of them do.

I will see if he responds tonight and I will see what I can get, will post again tomorrow when I have something a little firmer!

I went to every Australia Post Shop within a 10K radius today and scored 4 1oz Coloured Proof Dragons, and 1 1/2oz Coloured Proof, all at original release price :D

My local PO Shop guy gave me his card and said "next time there's something coming that you want, give me plenty of notice and I can get you as many as you want".

I don't think he realises that "as many as I want" might not actually be possible, but a hook up for 5-10 units outside of the Perth Mint system is about the best thing that's happened to me all month.. SNAKES, here I come!

So are you taking pre orders for the snake then?

I think my guy might be getting some coloured proofs in as well, he thinks he has some more coming but couldn't get to the computer to find out. He hasn't had any coloured proofs in and I have no idea if they come in seperate orders but if he does get any in are they going to be as popular as the non coloured ones?

Are they more expensive than the ordinary proofs?

I might pick some up if they are going to be of any interest.

ebay around 180 currently i think
I sold in here few days ago 160ea for coloured 1 oz proof. so if you can grab some Coloured Dragon, I am in two set :D
we had an auction for Proof Dragon 1 oz in here today, only bid to 192... so I think better sell those babies via ebay rather than here

Cool. I'm watching a bunch of auctions on the bay and wondering if flipping now or waiting a bit would be the best play.. There seems to be growing glut of them on there at the mo, I'm just concerned about getting caught in a momentary high supply situation and not selling for as high as I would like (greed and fear right there). The coloured Tigers are rare now, and commanding very good prices. I think the Dragons are more attractive, and stand to do very well in the next year. Opinions welcome..
