Is it from Sri Lanka? Natural or colour treated?

Approx $30-$50 in the retail market. Keep it out of sunlight as it will loose its colour.

The enhancement is a colour treatment that they do to a lower grade stone to make it look like its a higher grade. Sri Lanka has the best sapphires around so you've at least got a good gem there.

Are you planning on doing something with the stone?

Ouch ... Do a google/YouTube search for colour treated sapphires and you'll see what I'm talking about.
If a valuer has put that price on this stone then it's either genuine (natural and not enhanced) or they are incompetent. I'm either case, get in touch with them and ask them WTF?
For future reference, look out for colour enhanced ruby and emeralds too!
    Good luck.

There's no way to tell what treatments have been done to the stone just from pictures, it would have to be tested by a lab to see what treatments have been done. The bigger problem with this stone is it's opaque which means no light travels through the stone. I'm sorry to say, it's not worth much at all, definitely less than $50 and probably closer to $10--$20.

I have not heard of them, but that doesn't mean much. There are tons of places that will do an appraisal. You can look on ebay for instance to get a general idea of what stones like you have might sell for. Look in the sold section, that will give you a much better idea of what it's worth.

Direct from India where this would of been cut a 34 CT sapphire with limited transparency might be 25 US$ .. Lower quality gems don't usual ly make it to jewellers stores but I'd say retail with a cert could be 250 ish
