Hi guys my first post here, Just wondering what would the market value be for a 1 oz year 2000 gold maple leaf with a firework privy mark.
Did a quick search, looks to me as if all silver maples minted in 2000 had that privy mark, so I would assume so did the gold ones. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Source: http://www.pcgs.com/articles/article_view.chtml?artid=2053&universeid=105&type=1 As far as value goes, I think most modern 1oz gold coins are sold close to their bullion value unless of course they're proof. So I would say it's worth about $1400. Could be wrong again though That's Australian $.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated.Apparently it has the lowest mintage figure among 1 oz gold maple leaf coins http://www.jandm.com/script/getitem.asp?CID=7&PID=33 What price would you think it would go for? Is it just worth its weight gold or is there any numismatic value.
Standard issue 1 oz gold maples are going for well over $1400USD on US eBay, closer to $1500 +/- $25 in most cases that I've seen lately.
Unfortunately you're only looking at bullion value. Unless you were able to find someone who was specifically putting together a complete collection of 1oz gold maple leafs and really needed this specific issue to fill a gap in their collection, but the odds of that happening are pretty much nil.
