    Inauguration - 20/1/17

The lead up to and post inauguration will have plenty to offer making the start to 2017 one to remember.

The inauguration of the 45th President of the United States will be just one polarising topic giving members here plenty to bang on about for the remaining 11 months of 2017 I am sure.

Good luck for 2017 and I hope your dreams come true.

    Merry Christ -mas :)

My only concern is of the price of PMs while the world watches a live feed of him signing the legal documents needed to start his presidency.

Exactly as you say "concern is of the price of PMs", every other post is just polluting this once great forum, and should go to the posters' own blog Twitter or Facebook pages.

Maybe we should elect some sort of task force. Give them the responsibility of rounding up these polluters. Put em' on a list or something. Then once we've kicked them all out we should develop some kind of internet firewall to keep them from getting back in.

We'll make this forum great again!

I'd like to find some kind of baseline that would help me make a decision as to when to buy.
PMs could crash the second he signs. PM could start to climb when he signs.
Too many people have offered opinions based off of prejudices or assumptions.
I'd really like to find a concrete instance of "this scenario will effect PMs (backed by history or something)" and "Trumps presidency means the start of scenario "X""

I'd really hate to buy and then silver crashes $5 later that day and I'd really hate to hold out and silver jumps back up to $20/oz

I think that we would all like that kind of knowledge making a potential killing on the day but highly unlikely sad to say,but promise me that if you find that kind of intel you will just share it with me alone promise :D

But saying that I always look at the reasons why I personally own Silver of Gold, and I am honestly not concerned or even worried one little bit but look forward to the show come what may :)

Can I suggest to you and all other reader if you are really worried like many seem to be here - Sell Now - literally buying your peace of mind even if it might be very short lived.

Today in so many ways we are damned if we do - or damned if we don't - but your peace of mind could be just one "large" sale away if you choose to take that jump.

    Merry Christ - mas :)

Apart from the fact that I'm often wrong, the closer trump gets to being president, the more
Insecure and jumpy the world will get.
He got in to spite the elite.
The guy is eccentric, unpredictable and possibly mad.
Does this make you feel secure?
    He can't help himself.

    Gotta be good for gold.

I have enough training, life experience and dry powder to insulate me from anything the 45th President of the "United States" does or doesn't do.

You worry too much, you need to change your focus.

Still Merry Christ - mas :)

P.S. tomorrow it will be Happy New - Year

So based off of that thinking do you think PM's will take a deep dive after he's President?

No, I think gold will go up.
People buy gold when things are insecure.

Well just the thought of a Trump presidency has brought prices down, right? Unless there's something else to explain this downward trend the past month or so.

So if Trump is the reason prices have been falling how would his presidency becoming official keep the trend downward? If insecurity is supposed to make prices go up shouldn't they have been going up the second it was found he won the electoral college?

Gold did go up when he won the elecion then down.
    In USD$.
That is to say usd, $, rose as people bought usd, a typical fear reaction.
The bond market collapsed and the money went into the stockmarket.
The rich got happy with the idea of everything going their way,
    against the poor.
    But things will get worse,
theres a 5 year old at the wheel.
    A psychopathic lier.
    Watch out.

I think as the confusion settles gold will rise.
Why hasn't it so far, don't know.

Logic doesn't apply to confused situations.

Gold going up when he won then down doesn't support your theory though.
There needs to be something else. This fear can't just artificially effect the prices.
Lets say Trump passes some kind of legislation that makes it more expensive for private companies to lease the mineral rights on government land I can see how this would effect the price of PMs.
I don't disagree with you on Trump's persona. He's ignorant, immature, and unqualified for the job. However, I don't see how this fear can manipulate the price unless it directly effects some kind of real world money situation. Those are the things I'm interested in. Do you know of any real world situations that his presidency will change?

So Trumps a ignorant, immature, unqualified for the job 5 year old, that still makes him better than the last dickhead you flogs over there elected

Prove it. Give me some logical and factual statements where Obama was ignorant of his duties, immature in his demeanor, or unqualified to do his job.
I'm pretty sure your only responses will be illogical poorly worded assumptions that have no connection to the three traits I just asked you to describe and have their roots in your personal butthurt.
    Prove me wrong.
