Is this correct that Florin is near the size of the round 50 ?

Round 50s are currently $8.50-$9ea, how much are florins each ?

    Cheers, HAPPY STACKING :)

    50s - 13.28 gm 0.3416 oz
    Florins - 11.31 gm 0.3364 oz

Almost the same ASW as for how much each florins are,

$10 for older ones with no dings and dents.

Average ones between -5% spot to spot.

It's a little easier for 50s as you only have to deal with condidtion, where as forins also have a range of rarer dates and special commemorative issues like 1927 Canberra which seems to be $12 if asking for them specifically.

But like anything in SS there are bargains around.

Wouldn't say they're exactly the same.

The round 50 fits perfect into a U.S Half Dollar tube (20x per tube).
The florins have a bit of rattle on the sides (23x per tube).

Do yourself a favour ( as Molly Meldrum used to say ) and buy yourself the latest Rennicks Australian coin and banknote guide. It gives you everything, size, weight, composition, mintage etc.
I like taking mine out occasionally as I find it very interesting. Great for research when buying coins off the internet.

    +1 for a catalog.
I picked up the 1987 Krause Standard catalog of world coins from an op-shop for $2 and it is an excellent guide.
The internet has its place , but books rule.
Not only does this one have all the coin details (weight, mintage, metal) it also has 1/1 pictures of the coins.
So my florin in hand is life size in the book.
My one has dates from 1850ish until 1985 and while the price guide no longer applies all the real important stuff is there.
This one also contains gold/silver bullion charts for coin content at the back with a conversion chart for Muslim dated coins to Christian.
This book is 3 inches thick and has everything a coin person needs to identify pretty much ANY coin.
