Hi guys, been around 2 years since I posted any silver, cannot even remember how I used to do it.

Sold a few 1oz coins and am sending them via registered post in a padded bag. That should be fine shouldn't it?

I think I used to use Platinum Express for larger quantities but I can't even remeber the benefits if it. Could someone please refresh my memory? lol

    Thanks

If they are just floating around loose in a padded bag, then I would consider it not fine.
Should be separated and secured inside the package. Nothing worse than receiving metal that is clanging around inside the packaging.

If you use a "CD" type box and wrap the coins in bubble wrap you get better protection for around the same price (cardboard CD boxes are available at the post office). You can easily fit around 5 x 1 oz coins in a CD box. If you are sending larger items then wrap them up and put them in a box so they cannot bounce around, then into a satchel if you want to use satchels. Even it you are sending bars make the extra effort to pack them so that they should not get dented or scratched or end up punching a hole through the envelope or satchel.

There is nothing worse than opening up an envelope and tipping out what used to be plastic capsules accompanied by some now dented and scratched coins, all because the sender couldn't be bothered to spend a few extra minutes on packing.

All coins should be wrapped in cardboard and individually taped to the card where appropriate to minimise movement (sound), disguise their shape and reduce capsule scratches. I also put some bent card between the coins to further disgiuse their shape if squeezed.
Bars should be separated by thin card/paper to reduce wear marks and wrapped tightly in cardboard to reduce movement.
If a satchel is used then tape loose coin packet to a larger card the size of the satchel to reduce the chance of the loose package breaking through the bag in transit or when thrown by the postal workers. Also best to round the corners of the card, again to reduce the possibility of the satchel being pierced.

    Beer carton card is sufficient.

I find oreo cookie cuboid cardboard boxes make for good packaging of 1oz coins. Of course I could use toothpaste cuboids instead but I shamelessly want the oreos

Hey guys, I appreciate all the help. Sorry if I was a little vague, packaging of the parcel will not be an issue, it's more so the cheapest/best service to use when posting. Eg. Registered post in envelope/Satchel/Plat Express

I do not recommend anyone using a padded bag.
I had a fellow stacker's padded bag got cut n emptied.
    Like NM said..use a cardboard.
cover with a bubble wrap and place the coin in between the cardboard.
    Selotape it.
then use the prepaid satchel to post.
