Started collecting kilo lunars two months ago. At that time I bought mice, tiger, ox and rabbit for like spot plus 15% from a german dealer that had all in stock. So only the latest four left.
Hi guys. I've been trading silver electronically for 2 decades but am starting physical stacking for the first time. I'm really taken with this lunar series and have decided this is what i want to specialise in for now. I have bought one of each size of the lunar goat( except the 10kg) and absolutely love them. I'm keen to stack a lot of goats, being that I was born that year and feel it is a good omen . My question is: profit performance wise which size coin is the the best one to stack. The 10oz is the price point that suits my financial position best, has that size coin performed as well as say the 1kg or 1oz in previous series? cheers
I am not bullion buyer but I just collect this lunar. I am more on numic. I am unable to help you at this moment
I think it depends on the issue selected, and the mintage amount. It will vary from animal to animal, IMHO. I think the kilo is more of a 'spot play' than a semi-numi play. I think you'll see others come on and say they swear by the 2 oz, and will have reasons for their selection. And others the 5 oz, and still others the 1/2 or the 10. lol. In some issues the 2 oz goes for quite abit. because they are hard to find. I think the horse will have a 'ton' for each issue, no matter the 1/2, 2, 5, or 10. So maybe the 1 oz is the best, because no more than 300k. So, who knows. We will see actual numbers come out in April. Welcome. And best of success in implementing the, 'if you don't hold it, you don't own it.' )
Any idea of price range for the 1kg Mouse and the 1kg Tiger. I think the mouse is the hardest to find.
no idea, but APMEX has the 1/2 kilo for a deal...995.00. LOL. This is what I mean. We hear the blah, blah, blah about how these can be minted until 2019, yet, you can't find a kilo Tiger. In our capitalistic world, you'd think that someone would mint a boat load of the kilo tigers, and charge an arm and a leg, but that's not what we are seeing. I think it would cost a fortune for them to go and mint even the minimum amount of the kilo tigers, so no one does it, making the kilo tiger kilo rare. So, all this hype about they can mint until 2019 may be true, but it isn't practical. load up on the kilos, IMHO.
Andy, how much did you pay for your kilo tiger, if you don't mind us asking? And what was the price of spot at the time, and WHEN (key) did you buy it? Did you buy it when it was first issued in 2010? Or did you recently just buy it. Thanks.
i bought the KG Dragon @ around 1200$ but it was on a way higher POS in end of 2012 / beginning 2013 Are there any numbers of minted coins until now ?
