I can buy eagles for less than any bullion I can find. Credit Suisse has a higher premium on their bars than eagles

At least over there I guess O_O

I think I'd be lucky to find a nice deal like that locally, which is why I usually just settle for PAMPs (my preferred trading method is face-2-face).

This feels like a pretty decent premium to me, only 7% over spot.

Not too much to ask for?

It's an alright deal but a 1oz PAMP from ABC Sydney at 3.4% over spot still calls to me more:

Then again, I'm biased cos I can easily pick it up when it comes in as I frequent the CBD. @_@

    Edit: Change of adjective :p

Excellent deal! 1751 AUD is what I'd pay for a 1 oz eagle

Platypus has mintage limit of 30,000 though so the extra premium is justified IMHO.

It is justified from a numismatic point of view, and it's good that the option exists for those who like to speculate on premiums.
Personally I focus on number of ounces.

It's already $1506 US, very conservative guess you have =)

Down $100 US in not even half a trading day, amazing!

Son of a conch! I knew I was being too easy on it =_="

Well I didn't buy yet anyway, I'm waiting and watching until I see some sort of stability. :)

I woke up cause my back was killin me after it was back up to 1515, by the time I blinked my eyes and realized it had been to 1465, went to my site, it was 1518 and my 1/2 eagle cost me 417! I feel sick, not because I had to pay a few dollars more but I missed the bottom live! I'm still thinking there will be a pull back, so I'm going to hold off, see what the dawn in America brings. Hope y'all bought some goodies :)

Pulled the trigger on an oz.

I'm now going back to "hold" mode until a later day in the week, unless things dip suddenly again.

    *time for a coffee*

Same here, a week ago I'd be doing backflips with Pt mid 1500s, but uncertain now regarding the direction PMs will take short term
