Can't find the platypus on PerthMint's website. Where do you get these?

They're only available from dealers I think - they announced that they wouldn't be selling them via the bullion trading site.

Roo would be able to get them.

I think platinum prices are often impacted by consumer sentiment (which hasn't been all that good) since it is a luxury item for many. Although with the auto industry seeming to continue its rebound, maybe prices will start to move up (hopefully). I have a 1 ounce swiss platinum shooting taler that my grandmother has been wanting me to sell for her, but I hate to move it when prices are down.

They're at a record low price atm on there as well. If you're looking for Perth Mint prices they are priced the same as platinum koalas. I got a print out of the days buy/sell price from the girls working there once and it appears the sell price for the platypuses from the mint is spot + $110 (price was exactly $110 more so just guessing here, could still be a % premium).

I too have been monitoring the platinum price.
I may buy in the near-future.

Pretty sure Roo still has some. I managed to get one but apparently they're all disappearing overseas.

    (And yes, its bloody beautiful.)
