Is this the link you're talking about? http://www.perthmint.com.au//docume...nar_Silver_Bullion_Series_One_1999_-_2010.pdf Mintage = 300,000 Sale = below: Rabbit 63,644 Dragon 118,697 Snake 71,301 Horse 99,632 Goat 102,164 Monkey 105,680 Rooster 92,691 Dog 98,825 Pig 87,009 Mouse 59,623 Ox 52,267 Tiger 56,077
Yep list looks about right. Notice the Dragon has twice the mintage as some other coins but carries the highest premium of any of the Series 1 Lunar coins.
Yep and I want one so bad Saw a gold 1 oz on ebay for over $2k, was thinking of offering him my left arm for it
Yes, incredible to think they sold under 100 000 of any of them now. People are hanging on to those dragons now - very tightly I would think. Sadly I only have a gilded one that I paid too much for at the time.
Yeah but things go in "crazes" and fads. If spot collapses, so will the dragon price. Also, the Perth Mint may choose to release another BU coin annual series. 2007 saw the introduction of the Koala series but more of a threat to the Lunar series would be an annual series where the theme changes (not just a variant of the koala or kook like there is now).
I'd contest this - they're selling for the same price as when spot was $46. Spot fell 30% and the price stayed the same - they've gone numismatic.
Very true - missing a Kidney for a 1/2oz Dragon but me thinks its was useless anyway - the kidney not the Dragon!
