The Macquarie donut is a representation of the holey dollar... a statement in their wholesale services loby reads "...by purchasing Spanish silver dollars and punching the centres out creating two new coins - the "Holey Dollar" and the 'Dump'. An inspired solution to a difficult problem. For this reason it was chosen as the symbol of the Macquarie Bank Group."
