I like the design of the silver Goats. Natasha Muhl 'NM' has done a great job at designing the 2015 Lunar Goat.
Most of the Aus sites that I checked seem to have them for pre-sale, so you can lock in an order now at <$32ea (no quantity breaks though).
Apmex has them listed now. The 1oz silver goats are listed at at US $11 over spot in quantity. Since Apmex is usually the highest, my guess is that other dealers will have them for US $9-10 over spot. Kind of meh on them at that price. Much better pricing than the horses, but too high to be a good on a shorter term time frame. As a ten year investment, they should do well. But for 1-3 year time period, low premium silver seems like a better option. Considering the horses are available right now for a $7 premium, buying the goats at $10-11 over spot, doesn't interest me.
Probably until the original stock is gone or almost gone. Since your 1oz horse premiums were lower than in the US, I was somewhat surprised the horses were still available in AU. With the higher premiums in the US, their continued availability hasn't surprise me. Apmex had the goats at a $7 premium the first time I looked and then quickly upped it to $11. Either that or I am starting to see things.
You're not seeing things. They put up 2 offerings at $27.xx and then went to $31.xx. Lame, very lame...
That's okay, I ignored them last year and I can do so again this year. For 1oz lunars, Apmex is the worst choice of the three US dealers. Unless you want the highest price and opened rolls, then they are numero uno
whinfell are you sure about the premium last year at pre order? I looked at the chart and silver was over $26AUD only for a about a week in late August-early September. In the US, the premiums were ridiculous from day 1.
IMO...Launch began on 13 August 2014 with the all size coins including the 1oz Goats being available to order from Perth's dealers. Everyone has already seen the designs. Perth have released their official video. Non-event guys...sorry to rain-on-your-party. Save your air-fare...buy bullion lunars.
Just checked my records - I ordered rolls of horses on 23rd August last year - A$36.53 each, with spot at A$25.68 (so near-enough $11 over spot).
Gainesville has it out at US$6.95 over spot. http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/pro...tralia-perth-mint-brilliant-uncirculated.aspx
Gainesville pricing forced Apmex to lower their prices back down. Pre order from Apmex, pay now, then wait while they cherry pick the best coins and sell you the rest. If I order any 1oz goats, it will likely be from Gainesville or Provident. Does anyone know of any other US dealers that sell 1oz lunars?
Yeah, I saw that. My impatience got the better of me this time. I lost out on 40.00 on my 2 rolls that will be Perth Mint sealed. Oh well.
