Yeah, well, screw them, I got a gazillion baseball coins, which the Germans can't get. And I'm happy that I have 20 of the 2013's stock horse, should have got 100 of them, as that would have taken 100 out of commission from completing the set...hehehe.
i thought this was a stock horse subject iam sorry for those outside europe its not in the best interest of the serie the seller should realize that also he outrages other german sellers who cant get any for wholesale prizes maybe as stackers and collectors we can find a way instead of killing of each other with i can get this an you cant get that lets talk about coins
we have only two coins ... first was discussed in number of pages ... 2nd is making its 10th page in very near future ... so, the question is if the coin worth anything above $50 or not i.e., for sub $50 it is nice coin to have ... anything above makes it just a piece of 1 oz silver and I am not going to buy it for that price and told everybody for whom I bought last year not to buy it either. Idea is simple - I let EMK or any other to eat the premium and keep the horse for months - it is their money and business decision, but I am not going to bring money for these folks. Let them find somebody else with deep pockets )))
they sell for 75 on ebay uncarded so youre 50$ doesnt hold by the way i wrote a mail in german to the seller to translate all youre(justified) angry words to him i know its litlle but its something
Maybe we should write them and see if a group buy would be on the cards? Still only 2 each but split amongst everyone involved?
I don't understand why everyone has a problem with EMK. Is the problem the shipping cost? Because the coins are being sold at pretty much the same prices people where able to buy them for last year. Limiting it to 2 per household means that everyone will be able to get one, or two. Rather than being bought up by people who just hold them for profits. I think it's fair. They paid to commission the coin, why aren't they allowed to be the only dealers selling it? I don't see any harm in what they are doing. Their price seems fair to me.
They must be selling some of their stock to a dealers outside of Europe surely? If not I can understand why everyone outside of Europe is annoyed. But it's not like you guys in Aus/US/elsewhere don't have plenty of other great pieces of silver to choose from Us European stackers overpay on everything. I just bought a coin from the US and paid about 1/3 of the cost of the coin on shipping charges, so I feel your pain. Though to be fair I could have ordered more coins to reduce this cost. The maximum stock horses you can order is 2 so it's not easy to reduce the shipping cost, which sucks.
Chris I wish they could lift the order limit so that we can order the coins in larger quantities thus average out the shipping cost. It cost a whopping 70 euros to ship anything below 500 euros. I will be happier if the order limit is one roll instead of 2 coins. There is no way I am paying 150 euros for 2 stock horse coins.
issues: with spot being lower coin`s price is higher than last year (about 7 euros) shipping cost - ridiculous for anyone outside of Europe no paypal as matter of payment (international bank transfer would cost me $25) I removed the series from my want list ... better chase roos, britannias, pandas, etc.
i just added more coins to the stash organized friends and family allready sold some pieces the ps 69 are doing very well with only 10.000 coins it wont be a problem this lovely coin
Someone on another forum pointed out that almost 1,500 2014 stock horse coins have been graded first release by PCGS, so at least some of their game becomes more clear.
The site limits purchase to 2 uncarded (less than ms69) and 5 ms 69 and ms 70 does this mean I could get 12 coins??
Yes, the price is MORE than fair, but NO sane people would pay 120% MORE for shipping and bank transfer alone. Not to mention, a lot of coins they are selling is cherry-picked leftovers that can only be graded MS68 or below, why bother? And you are correct that there are many other good coins to buy. Why have to buy stock horse coin?
I got ten of the uncarded versions last year and really like them. My plan was to do the same each year and hold for the future. So this year, I took a chance and paid for one carded 2014 just to have one. Now it appears that it is the only one I will be getting. The shipping and process to get them back to the US is just too much over the top for me to justify. So now I wonder if there is any point in keeping any of them and am considering just dumping what I have. Yeah, of course I am just another unhappy Stock Horse stacker and I do recognize the right of the folks who sponsored the coins to market as they see fit. But what will be the impact if there are many other people who have the same response? I'm guessing not much. Does EMK have a physical location in Germany where people can stop in and buy off the street? What city are they located in? I do still know people stationed in Germany and a couple of guys in the office are headed their soon, maybe a possibility.
