Hi stackers I have a swag of 2016 Kangaroos from Perth Mint and want to know what premium they attract nowadays (sold privately of course). Any thoughts?
Not much of a premium, a dollar or two over spot at most. Especially if they’re milkspotted, then it’s closer to spot. They’re a run of the mill bullion coin, akin to an ASE in the US. No real collectability or semi numi value to them
I think a few like these have sold on here recently. Check the spot price at the time and you will get a good sense of what is reasonable. Something like this is close enough https://www.silverstackers.com/forums/index.php?threads/wts-2-x-2017-kilo-kooks.92546/#post-1094661
Thx Mongrelmaple makes sense. What if they are still boxed up in 250 lots not even out of the external packaging? Add any value?
If they don't want to pay extra for tubes and boxes empty them out when you do the transaction and sell elsewhere. Handy storage for up to 250oz of coins has to be worth something. Pour each tube into your hand and count individually before tossing them all into a big pile on the counter/table thus ensuring buyer is getting products closer to the quality of their offered purchase price. If you're not in a hurry you could kiss each coin goodbye before calling heads or tails and tossing onto the pile. Im doing random shiftwork these days so I've become slightly grumpier on a more irregular basis. No offense intended, particularly anyone who might be in the market for a sealed monster box of silver reptiles.
