1Kg Perth Mint Silver Design http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-68874-the-1st-perth-mint-silver-bar-serial-no1.html
You are helping me with this as this is the 3rd bar with an A prefix and they all are 10.00ozs..???? I wonder if they did a special run or stamped the A only on the 10.00ozs bars. Many Thanks for sharing. If you wish to sell I'm your man. Kind Regards Bigfella
Not for sale anytime soon. But will keep you in mind. Interesting about the exact 10.00-oz weights. Obviously in order to help prove/disprove any theories, there would have to be at least one odd-weight "A" serial #, or a 10.00-oz non-"A".. Any examples out there of the latter? But even then, wouldn't necessarily be as strong a case if any of the former, as it could have been a decision at some point during the run of these.
I have images of a 10.00ozs Type B with serial Number 14788 so it is not just for 10.00 ozs Type B. I'm thinking we need to find an odd weight Type B bar with A prefix. Thanks for the help. Regards Bigfella
Another question. Does anyone know about the fact they used 2 different sized moulds for the Flat 1Kg Perth Mint bars?
The swirls gentlemen, the swirls! *edit* I forgot one! Source: The Monsignor Phrenzy Q. Oppenheimer III, Marquis of Very St.English-name family trust collection.
Hey people, picked up this piece. I have done some searching but cannot find any information. If anyone knows more about these bars and can shed some light that would be great and thanks to whinfell for the link to the famous Ted bar. Thanks in advance
That's interesting, I've only seen a couple 5oz like this but mine send to be cast swirly and yours loaf even though yours ha a lower serial (like he double 88 on mine but guy to love the low number). Also, wondering when they started putting letter suffixes on them? Another beauty I have to part with soon...
