In a not so childish response please... Do serialized bars carry a higher premium? Can you insure them? Or are they simply a way to track authenticity?
To some they are more valuable , yes Pamp's do sell for a premium Personally it don't matter to me , I would never pay a premium for a Pamp 1kg Just buy what ever is locally supplied And if you do insure your stash take photo's & keep them with your receipts separately
All good than , no need to pay premiums for Pamps " PAMP " Just have a really good marketing department  And when you go to a dealer ,they want pay the premium for Pamp's
Don't worry, managed to find it on Google after about 20mins PAMP is an acronym for: Produits Artistiques de Mtaux Prcieux - Artistic products of Precious Metals They have a website and everything http://www.pamp.ch/
Weigthed my 10oz new style bars last night and found that bars with old stamps weight 313+gm while the new stamps weight 311+gm.. Coincidence?
I know that minimising "giveaway" is addressed during the gold fabrication, maybe more attention is being paid to it during silver production - as long as it weighs at least 311.04g there is no problem. These bars are not poured - they are cast by melting granules places into molds - so it sounds like they are just weighing the granules better
Does anyone else think it is unusual that the Perth Mint Silver Bars don't mention what material they consist of? 99.9 but no mention of 99.9% what? Noticed this on a bar and thought I was going mad! Edit - I see that the gold bars (none minted) don't say it either: I guess one just infers from the colour (On that note, anyone wanna buy a Perth Mint 10oz poured platinum bar? First and only of it's kind, looks very similar to the silver bar in appearance ).
Have seen AGR Matthey 30kg bars delivered from the mint, I'm pretty sure that there was a brochure or press release showing the "new" 1000oz bars that have a Perth Mint hallmark (laser etched from memory). Only available through Depository as a general rule.
just picked up one today...similar than B style but no serial on back also a kg old style with serial on back I think I got excited about silver again in a long time
Those are two very good looking bars. Makes me want to sell my 10 oz stackers so I can get some 5-10-20ozs and a kilo PErth mint bars.
Add a bit of elbow grease to have that finish. PM bars were born ugly. Took me few attempt to give that finish.
What did you use and what did u do? I have one Perth 10oz and I wouldn't mind if it looked like that.
