both have a pricerange $800 -$ 1,200AUD is a fair estimate but I have seen them go for more in a bidding war etc.

Yeah, reckon it’s a Type A for the same reasons as Bigfella states

Obviously everyone is aware of the new Perth Mint 1 kilo silver bars as of 19 May 2023.
For years I've been on Perth's back asking for their bars to include the words "silver" and 9999; now we have the new kilo bars.
Hopefully, the 10oz bars will resume production and the words ‘10oz FINE SILVER 9999’
From memory, the change has taken about 5 years.

Here is a Perth Mint type A but it has a letter “A” suffix and not a prefix. Is this un usual?

Thanks, what makes this a B and not an A?
Have you seen them with a letter suffix before?

see post 243 - original photo by me , posted long ago somewhere in the forum.

on the "OZS" A & B ; one has rounded edge the other more square. A has longer OZS than B and slimmer.

Suffix , Prefix are rare too ;) ; later introduced
"A" , do not determine they are A Type

They are used because type B , use the same serial. (suffix )
So Prefix and Suffix have been introduced, to save confusion of same serial numbers.

Years after this ; All have been dropped out. This punching do consumed many man hours.

Today bars , don't have serial numbers except larger bars or dore bars ( 11 kg to 15 kg varies in weight )

The 10 oz standard now was taken out due to cost effectiveness, as labour cost increases.
