They look good but as an investment it's hit and miss. Alot of theses type of coins sell quickly and have a month or two of selling above premium on ebay but then fall to the wayside. Personally I wouldn't get them. But I could be wrong

With their price hike recently I wouldn't bother with these.

I think they look pretty good but not $115 good.

$80 over spot is pushing the boundaries IMO.
It's all about profit now - not just the minting costs.

The rise in premium in these coins has far outpaced the rise in spot. For example when spot was $20 these coins were in the $70's range. Now spot is up $15, these coins have not increased by $15 to $85 but to $115. They are a real gamble. Some, like the Tasmanian Tiger have done well but others you cant even get their issue price for. Take a look at the "great warrior" series, or WW2 tanks, or great naval battle of history or great naval battles of WW2 - all have been a flop flop flop. Even one I thought would do well with only a 3,000 mintage compared to the usual 5,000 mintage which was "working dogs" has not been successful either.

The other little marketing trick that the Perth Mint employs is to "limit" the amount a person can buy to like 5 coins. This is all just a ploy. Its done so people think there's a reason its being limited and therefore there's strong demand for the coins. Admittedly on a very few coins series there is high demand but 9 times out of 10 there isnt.

Its the same thing that's done in "pump and dump" IPO's in the sharemarket. You market parcels of say 10,000 shares and say that's the limit per person. That way the buyer thinks there's some kind of rationing going on because of high demand - but in reality the demand is all artificial and once the seller of the IPO gets their money, you will see demand dry up to naught.

I think the 5 coin limit is to stop people buying heaps and then selling them on ebay.
