I accept that bullion buyers are a tiny portion of our society but the number is much greater when you look at visitors/customers of the Perth mint. Very few coin dealers have much to sell these days. Pickings are very lean

Perth Mint called me completely out of the blue yesterday.I have not even gone in there or bought anything for over two years since they banned cash purchases.

They wanted me to go in there with ID, and give them a load more personal information. All part of some money laundering crackdown.Since I said no my account is now suspended and I cannot make any purchases from there.

Who would bother? I just go to ABC and pay cash, although wouldn't surprise me if these laws find themselves to every bullion dealer eventually.
