Just a bug bear. Some one posted a thread on the numbering system NGC uses. Something about if the coin has been to NCS and has been conserved and then goes to NGC for grading the number on the capsules will start with a three. Just noticed one of the 1983 coins in the first pics starts with a 4. Does this indicate that this coin is not conserved?
Still love the collection. Just a question. Sorry for shooting a hole.

very good observation chilidog ... the NGC numbering system cannot be 100% conclusive but from what I posted in that thread you referenced I feel it's about 90% based on a large number of submissions and coins. This coin that you referenced is a "cross-over" from PCGS hence the "4" starting number. I have done a few crossovers and they all begin with a four and I know conclusively that this coin was crossed over ... good eye ! :)

Congratulations on a stunning collection Comeaux, the 1/2oz 95 and bimetallic 91 stand out like big hairy bear balls for me . Droool, awesome coins. Can't stand those coloured bears though for some reason, no offence.

Thanks for your great contributions and info to this forum also, doesn't go without notice and is much appreciated. Cheers!

Hello 25Grizzlies Thank you very much for these kind words it is rewarding to see that some members do appreciate the time I expend here to disseminate what little knowledge I do have.

When I came into this forum I saw SS members with many questions, realizing the passion we all have for our hobby, it is gratifying to know that I may be of assistance in some small way. :)

So all we need is badon to arrive here from LBC and the little info that I do contribute will be even more insignificant :D

This forum has phenomenal members after the heated debate a few days ago I have had some time to reflect and as usual I did say things that I probably should have not. That is the problem with communication via electronic texts; opinions conveyed may be interpreted out of context of what the original poster was attempting to express.

I found another Panda "variant"... this one is the rare "2010 Tinky Panda" :D

So I'm working at my desk right now and my email pops up from wifey at home feeding Tinky and I get this pic of my lil man eating breakfast and then looking closely I notice he has pandas on his shirt :)

Since this pic has pandas in it I see no reason why I couldnt post it in here in "panda photos !

Under 10x magnification using my Belomo loupe ( ;) ), all the coins had no visible scratches or dings or lint marks. Pretty amazing quality.

Looking good! Keep an eye out for the rounded shoulder 1/2 oz 1996 panda. AFAIK we don't know which variety is more common yet.
