Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I started buying bullion 6 months ago but now I'm hooked on gold coins. I have managed to buy a couple of painted 1/10 lunar gold coins and now I'm trying to collect them. I do not know much about these coins, so I went to a coin dealer who had no idea what I was talking about. This only raised more questions? I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction.
    1. Does anyone know about painted lunar gold 1/10 coins?
    2. Are these Perth mint issued and if not who paints them?
    3. Does it increase or decrease the value of the coin?
    4. Has anyone seen a 2011 1/10 gold lunar rabbit painted?
    5. How many of each year has been painted?
    6. What would be a good price?

Here is a picture of the coins I have.

I look forward to being a part of this forum and only wish I found this place earlier. I wouldn't have been stung with fake pandas from China or German silver on ebay.

    Thanks guys,

    Lunty

    Hi,

I think these coins are sent o'seas by the mint as "regular painted bullion coins" and then they fly/sail their way back
    home.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong everyone

Yes they are part of the Perth Mint lunar series. All of the old issues would have been sold out so you will need to look around. Put a wanted ad in the Selling section also with what you are after and what you are prepared to pay may return results for you.

The wording used is "Coloured" not "Painted" so that may help you find them. I tried to look on the Perth Mint website but that is a terrible site to try and find anything old.

    Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thanks for your replies guys. I will have go and use the wanted section to find a coloured 1/10th gold rabbit.
I also tried The Perth mint web site and found nothing. The next step is google I guess.
Blockhead the only other coloured gold coins I've seen is, the dog, pig, rooster, and monkey 1/10 and 1/20th from the first lunar sires and that was all on Ebay.
    The hunt goes on.

    Lunty.
