    Hi!

Did somebody order the 1oz and 3-coin-Set of Silver-Dragons from Talisman at the date of Issue? (06.september)

I did so and got the confirmation of the order, but no coins and no answers of email-requests.
    :(

Someone who got the coin and the set?

    Hello.
    I ordered 1oz and 3-coin-Set of Silver-Dragons from Talisman on Sep 4.
I got the confirmation of the order too.
Was really happy that I manage ordered. But when I check my account history with Talisman coins last Wednesday (Oct 5), my order was removed from my account. I e-mail to Bob from Talisman about my order, and he replied that Talisman will only sell to collectors the 1oz and 3-coin-Set of Silver-Dragons who previously bought lunar series proof & 3-coin-set from them before. So I'm out of luck, they won't sell it to me.
What you can do, is to check your account history with Talisman coin. If your order (Sep 6) is still there, then its possible you will get one. If not, then you out of luck.
Sometimes I had to wait 2 months to get my order from Talisman coins.
    Good luck to you.

    Hello !

I think when you get the confirmation of the order you have a right to get the coins.

The 4-coin-type-set is declared just to be sold to former customers of the typesets, not so the
    other coins and sets.
My Order is still in my account historie (status: ordered)

If I would have known that Bob from Talisman sells the coins just to former customers, I should have tried to
order somewhere else, but now it's too late to buy them at acceptable prices.

Could you buy them somewhere else?

    Best wishes

    Andreas

My order is still in my history too. I really hope they honour it.

Talisman is a bunch of pricks. On the telephone they are extremely rude and will not respond to simple emails.
When I called they said even if you put an order in before another person they would bump your order to help out there past clients who bought a proof coin. So you could pretty much call up today and get a proof or proof set if you had spent 100 bucks previously.

    Company is shit.

And the reason I am mad is because when I was on the phone with perth mint in sept I didn't order the one oz proof as it had already been confirmed with talisman.

I ordered a Dragon typesets from Downies last monday. Receive an e-mail confirmation of the order.
Was happy that I don't have to spend 1 hour or more trying to get it from Perth mint.
But them I receive 2 days later e-mail from Downies, saying they sold out the typeset, and they won't send me one.
I'm not very disappointed with Talisman coins, because I manage to buy it from Perth mint the 1oz proof dragon & 3-coin proof set.
    Product Unit Price Qty Amount
    2S1216DAAA
    2012 Dragon Silver Proof 1oz Coin AUS $ 102.27
    [CAD 106.84] 1 AUS $ 102.27
    [CAD 106.84]
    2S1216ZBAA
    2012 Dragon Silver Proof Three-Coin Set AUS $ 362.72
    [CAD 378.92] 1 AUS $ 362.72
    [CAD 378.92]
    Subtotal AUS $ 464.99
    [CAD 485.76]
    Shipping Cost AUS $ 0.00
    [CAD 0.00]
    Total AUS $ 464.99
    [CAD 485.76]

I didn't pay for the shipping, and I didn't have to pay any border custom fees. Was happy with that.

The cheapest retailed price I saw was $350 for a silver proof dragon. But with shipping & GST you're looking almost at a $ 400 AU

Abudabi you can e-mail to Bob from Talisman your order number (proof dragons), and ask him, if they going to ship your order this month or next month. Who knows. Maybe he respond to your e-mail, and let you know that they will ship it to you.
I'm really hoping you guys get your orders from Talisman coin.
    Good luck.

This is what I recieved after quite a large order I put in.

    'Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email. Due to overwhelming email volume, we are not able to reply to emails immediately.

We have received in excess of 1,000 email inquiries regarding the Dragon 4-Coin Type Set as well as the many other sold-out Dragon coins. The mintage limit on the Type Set is only 1,500, so obviously most of the inquiries about this set do not meet our purchase requirements. Given the current demands of the market, it will take us some time to get through them all.

    Thank you,

    Talisman Coins'
So basically looks like I am out of luck with this purchase!

"These coins have not been released yet, they were just announced by the mint a week and a half ago. We expect delays on the new Dragon coins as the Mint is behind schedule.

    Thank you,"

Today I got the message from Talisman coins:

"The Mint did not increase the mintage of the Silver Dragon Proof coins, and demand exceeded supply by a factor of 50 or more. Per the note on our website, these coins were limited, and we had to allocate orders, with priority given to previous customers of the series.

As you have not purchased any of the previous 1 Ounce Proof or 3-Coin Proof Sets from us, we will not be able to fill your order."

Does someone know if this is conformable to law? After all I got a confirmation of the order.

    Also DOWNIES disappointed me:

"Thank you for your email, I have looked into this for you and unfortunately we have no received this order and the wanted items have all sold out, in less than four (4) hours."

First answer to my emails I sent to downies - and now this!

How can they say "no received" when I got a confirmation of order receipt? :(

Confirmation of Receipt of your Order
    Online Order ID:XXXX

    IP Address Recorded: 17....
    Online Customer ID: XXX
Online Order Date: 04-Oct-11 11:43:44 (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

(that was 08:43 Perth Time, just after starting selling by the PM)

If someone knows how and where to complain I would be thankful for a message! (ANDA or PM?)

That is a real bummer, I got a confirmation from the Mint on the 1oz Proofs when they first were released, however no charge ever went through nor any email saying I wasn't going to get one either.

On a positive note I went into my local coin man, and he pulled me aside and said look what I just received do you want it ? You betcha a 4 coin proof set for issue price. THIS is why he gets my business :)

Noooooo, bad news from the perth mint.

    Dear XXXXXXX

Thank you for your order for Australian Lunar coins.

You may be aware that we have been experiencing unprecedented demand worldwide for our 2012 Year of the Dragon gold and silver coins as well as coins from previous years in the series.

As a result, despatch of many orders containing these coins has been delayed, and yours is amongst them.

Our minting division is currently working virtually around the clock to clear the backlog and meet this demand and we expect all back-orders to be despatched during November.

In the meantime, we can only ask for your patience and understanding.

Orders for these coins will be despatched in as received/paid order. As soon as your order is ready to be despatched you will receive an email advise.

Once again our apologies for this delay.

    Yours sincerely
    Ron Currie
    Sales & Marketing Director

PS : I bought / paid for my colored proofs on the launch day.WTF

Yep, I keep hearing lots of bad customer service stories about Talisman. I have two orders with them and I will be canceling them today just to prove a point.
