I'm considering picking up a 1/4 oz ox and snake this week. Basically they come out to about $60 over spot each delivered. Is that a pretty reasonable? I'm hoping to complete the entire series 2 in 1/4 oz bullion. So far I only have the horse and goat but these purchases would at least get me close to catching up with the series. Thanks for any help.

Also, and good online shops that you could recommend for lunars would be great.

From a dealer the $60 p coin premium on 1/4 oz S2 Lunar is about standard for the snake rabbit etc. I havent seen and 1/4 Ox's for sale so I would say if are looking at completing the set grab it.
Are u buying from Ebay, Dealer or LCS?
I would be careful buying any type of gold or silver from Ebay

1/4 oz OX is a more realistic price.. premiums on fractional gold are excessive.

Snakes should be lower really but its a case of finding some to sell you theres (as it is always).. however i am guessing not too many were minted, and no one is keen to sell at a loss.

1/4oz gold coins are a great size imho

Thanks for the opinions. I think I'll pick them up. Now I have to start searching for the mouse and rabbit. Those seem tough to find.

I'm in fl. I did find a mouse but they want close to $500. Can't make myself pay that yet unless I have the rest of the set and that is the only one I am missing.

If I were you I'd buy it now, because what will happen when you've got the rest the mouse won't be available anywhere or will be a lot more than $500. I know this from experience  so if I get the opportunity to buy a coin albeit slightly more than I think its worth I still buy it.

Does it matter that it is the proof version? I have been trying to stick with the bullion versions.

I ended up grabbing it. Apmex has free shipping right now so it was $479. Not too terrible I guess. Still way more than I have ever paid for a coin above spot. Down to finding the tiger and dragon and then I'll be caught up.

Anyone dealt with pacific world coins? They have another coin that I am searching for. Never heard of them before though.
