Hi guys. One of my first posts here I think, joined earlier this year. Has been great reading up on this show coin medal here. I also frequent the China Forum postings about this medal, as well as a much smaller discussion over at bullionstacker.
That being said, I too think these are beautiful medals. I bought the 5oz variety only and in a big way. I think they are going to do fine over time but not a double overnight for sure.
But the confusion that has occurred because of the 3 die varieties, the in and out of stock at PA, and the other issues guys are having with this medal really has caused many unneeded headaches for us owners.

I'm not trying to be a complainer (mentioned that this morning too at other site) but really, this has been one heck of a tough purchase. And no, I'm not interested in selling them back to PA, got these to hopefully hold onto a couple for my 2 kids, sell the rest for decent profits down the road. So I truly hope that many of the issues that guys have mentioned over the last month get put to bed soon, PA finally sells out and we all look to a bright future with these medals.

(I'm in the USA and do have a medal for sale at feebay)

Panda America has a long standing relationship with the China Mint. They get exclusive deals. These are official China Mint medals...and are very beautiful...I am holding one now. I am sure they will go up in price but I would probably wait a bit as they are still selling them. You have a lot of nice images on the silver proof. I got mine out of the horrible PVC pack that China ships them in (ever wonder what causes those white spots on your Pandas)...sent it to NCS to be cleared of any contaminants....then to grading.

That plastic package is PVC so if the coin remains in it expect trouble. It was already stuck to the capsule of my 5 ounce medal.

Didn't the Invention and Discovery Program have exclusive arrangements for some of the coins with Asset Marketing in Minnesota? Sold through their Preferred Coin Club. Too bad I passed on those at the time.

MCM is selling PF69 for 188 - that seems cheap, considering issue price is 175.

    For the 1oz medal:

MCM is $188 for PF69 and $288 for PF70 on their website.

eBay bidding is cheaper for the PF69 and MCM's website is cheaper for PF70 from what I can observe.

    I bought myself a PF70 :)
