Who does everyone trade with and recommend? I want to get into the stock market, nothing massive but just little bits here and there. Should I be setting up and account with Commsec or something similar? I'm a bit of a novice with it all.
Had to ask the same Q myself just recently here is what I found helpful http://forums.silverstackers.com/viewtopic.php?pid=308707) [EDIT] Bad timing by OP if they did http://www.cmcmarkets.com.au/stockbroking
CMC looks pretty good there, with the '$9.90' brokerage, is that charged whenever you buy or sell shares? I pay a lot of attention to the market prices but never the actual process of getting involved. Have you taken the next step yet and gone with either thatguy?
I used commsec a while ago and it was easy, BUT at the moment I am still physical all the way, cannot afford to play the paper game! I have a fair holding in the Perthmint depository and that makes me worried lol. If Gerald Celente can loose at that game I can more so. Big rewards come with big risks
CMC's 'hidden' charges made me not chose them - make sure you read the fine print, brokerage can suck your profits over a financial if you're not careful.
Can't beat Bell Direct for value & analysis tools. Real time is free with 5+ trades per month. Trade in & out of your client account. Trading platform is easy-peasy, no-nonsense, elegant, fast & well thought out. Full personalised free trading summary downloadable with complete divi info, trades, tax credits for your end of year etc all included - VERY useful. I use this to trade & HotCopper for stock discussion / forum - (the Bell forums are clunky, old-fashioned & crap, so don't bother). http://www.belldirect.com.au x
Yes, Bell is ASX & NZX listed co's only - I have different accounts in AUS, UK & US - they're all execution-only discount brokers (the ones that consistently win the awards) - I haven't used the US one for a while - but take it from me, Bell's the best, easiest to deal & cheapest here.
