I could be drawing a long bow on this but......With BoJo likely to become UK PM in the coming days, there's the potential for Boris to prorogue the UK parliament past 31 Oct to enable a hard Brexit thus preventing those in the UK parliament who are fighting to stay in the EU from frustrating Brexit.

Thus, and it's just a thought, if Boris does prorogue parliament, then the only way get parliament sitting again (and I could be wrong about UK parliamentary process and happy to be corrected) would be to have some major event arise that would demand debate within the parliament and thus the UK parliament has to sit again pre 31 Oct. Would that provide an avenue for the Remainers to mount a last fight to delay / defeat Brexit....thus could the major event be UK oil tankers / UK Navy getting into a fight with the Iranians?

not much point to continue the read, when you encounter that the article is factually wrong already...like two UK tankers instead of just one being captured by Iran
its not for entertainment, it is for facts comparisons
we know that lies can circle the world many times over, while truth has not not even tied the shoe laces

news sources, they are paid for propaganda
usually online/readers funded ones are struggling from month to month

I concur with you 100%. I am also subscribed to MOA but always take everything with a grain of salt. I like Vineyard of the Saker, another good source for comparison.

TEHRAN – During the incident which led up to the seizure of the British ship, the Iranian vessel sent a warning signal, “but the British ship ignored it,” explained Iranian authorities.

    01:59
The Iranian authorities said on July 20th that the British tanker Stena Impero, seized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, had hit an Iranian fishing boat before be detained by the IRGC, reports Fars News.

“[The Stena Impero] was involved in an accident with an Iranian fishing boat… When the boat sent a distress signal, the British flag ship ignored it,” explained Allahmorad Afifipour, head of the Maritime and Ports Organization of the province of Hormozgan.

“The British tanker has hit the [Iranian] fishing boat, this should be investigated,” he added.

Whilst I know the US is effectively oil and gas self reliant these days and Russia has developed it's fields in recent years but why with tensions rising in the gulf region, hasn't the wholesale (not pump price) oil price increased noticeably in recent weeks / months but sits around USD60.00 a barrel of late.

With Iran and Venezuela effectively of the game due to sanctions, and with gulf OPEC producers with the most to lose if conflict breaks out, why hasn't the price of oil spiked somewhat as what normally happens when sabers are rattled in that part of the world? Are we seeing a "made for TV show" whilst the Saudia's and other gulf oil producers know what's really happening...thus oil price remaining stable to a point?? Seems strange as gulf tensions and oil price are usually positively correlated.

Its all smoke and mirrors. They are not yet ready for another major war. As I said above you, can rest assured all will be fine as long as there is a CAG in the area. If they pull out their ships then you know things are about to pop off.

We can expect a little action post US elections I suspect.

To be honest I hear Iran is struggling economically and oil sanctions ain't helping. Iran's current leadership may not make it to Nov 2020 with many of the Iranian population not keen on the current crop of clerics and pollies running the show.

Panama cites ‘deliberate violations’ as it disowns UAE-based tanker seized by Iran

The plot has thickened around the disappearance of the oil tanker MT Riah, towed to Iranian shores last week, with Panama saying it is revoking the ship’s registration over violation of international rules.

Panama's Maritime Authority on Saturday announced that it initiated the process of withdrawing its flag from the Emirati-based tanker Riah, that vanished south of Iran’s Larak Island.

In a statement cited by Reuters, the authority said that its own investigation into the tanker’s disappearance had found that it deliberately violated international regulations” by failing to report an unusual situation, presumably its seizure by the Iranian Navy. The authority also condemned the use of Panama-registered vessels for “illicit activities” without ascribing any such specific activity to the Riah.

in the eyes of two witness, may the truth be established
seems Iranian is right about the violation of international rules by the tanker, Both Iran and Panama confirmed this
some actor knew they own this ship, and they knew their missions...hence the report of being two ships on the other news outlets

We should probably keep in the front of our minds that the British flagged shipped have not been captured by Iranian military forces but by a Terrorist organization.
I do not believe this to be the case but the USA may very well push the case that because the IRGC has been given the designation of terrorist organization that action has to be taken.

There is terrorist group supported by the west, and some middle east countries, just like ISIS being supported with weapons
they tried very hard to press Iran, since their actors are terrorists, all the shit are blamed on Iran
you can not believe Assad is killing his own people, when he was walking around town, his people loves him
ISIS is just foreign paid fighters etc, with Russian help majority had been buried now
Nations using names calling, they called each other terrorists

There is no action that US can take, so that Iran can move their country :)

Iran busted 17 spies linked to CIA, some received death sentence – media
