    Hi all

Got a quick question, if you see numismatic coins near spot price would you buy it just for the silver content? I saw some for sale and worked out to be $40 per ounce, which is cheaper than bullion coins currently selling at around $43 ATM.

    Regards

Which numi coin are you talking about if you dont mind me asking?

and bear in mind that the bullion coins you mentioned are 999 and UNC.

for sure! a great way to hedge your bets, silver drops you sell on the numismatic value, silver rises you sell on the silver value. Silver rises a lot and all the other coins get melted down you win on both fronts.

If you are just selling back and forth the purity doesn't seem to come into it much. If you wanted to refine or sell to a refiner then it would make a difference as they would pay less for 50% than for the same silver amount of .999 to cover their costs, so I am told.

Plus numismatic coins are more fun to look at than you 100th Kookaburra!
