I think that would be the most complicated solution.
I am not talking about building huge dams as they are traditionally understood.
I am talking massive man made lakes.
They fill up and then all of a sudden plants take hold and then when plants take hold trees take hold and when that happens TRANSPIRATION.
All of this happens in a small number of years and while water evaporation occurs on the lake combined with the transpiration of the plants you end up creating weather HUMAN COMPATIBLE WEATHER.
I am sure to some it sounds fanciful but at the end of the day all it take to start this is to dig some massive bloody holes in the ground .

    Then wait for rain......

I've worked out the drought is caused by lack of rain

Lake Argyle doesn't stimulate rainfall. Still relies on monsoon troughs and cyclones

That sounds like a conspiracy theory if ever I’ve heard one.

Same for lake Eyre when it's full. No rain stimulation

That is not really the best comparison as it is effectively a salt water lake that is not conducive to plant growth.
I will have a look for some examples of manmade lakes and report back.

After a quick bit of study it appears there is no precedent for my assumption of man made lake creating weather because all man made lakes are far to small to have what is coin "lake effect weather"
With this in mind and the fact that larger lakes do create weather i stand by my original post that a HUGE man made lake would not only create beneficial weather but also prevent flooding in areas depending on its placement.

look at the Aral sea. why was it drained by irrigation if huge lakes create weather that precludes the need for irrigation? do we need to dig a hole bigger than 68,000km2?

The irrigation area is 600km away, though.

The planner knew that Aral Sea will dry up when they diverted the river.

Also Aral Sea can be a sea again if Syr Darya river (which is as full as ever) is diverted back to Aral Sea.

In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses and normalizing tangential discussion whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.

The English noun "troll" in the standard sense of ugly dwarf or giant dates to 1610 and comes from the Old Norse word "troll" meaning giant or demon.[17] The word evokes the trolls of Scandinavian folklore and children's tales: antisocial, quarrelsome and slow-witted creatures which make life difficult for travellers.

Say something that contributes to discussions.
Share an insight that's your own.
    Stop childishly posting font arrays.
Show some respect and consideration for the discussions and other members here,
and I'll gladly revise my estimation of you.

AND mocking others' lack of education is a low act so lift your game as well.

Good attack Jules Babe (pretty in pink),
    1) Share an insight that's your own. I get my insights from my studies of what is available to be studied.

    2) Stop childishly posting font arrays. If you have trouble with font arrays, I would suggest you take it up with the providers of this site which allows Font size, Font colour & the BOLD function. If you are unable to use these functions on your You-beaut mobile phone that is not my problem.
    3) Show some respect and consideration for the discussions and other members here,
and I'll gladly revise my estimation of you.
As far as your revision of your estimation of me, I really don't give a damn. I've seen enough of your harassment of my posts and other peoples posts over the last 2 years that I am not prepared to jump through hoops for you, or your TROLL mate Stoic.
