Nice score mate.... On your travels if you come across the 1oz 2007 Princess Kaiulani Dala I'm chasing one to complete the family, as these are part of the NORFED collection.

I definitely will....they must be pretty hard to come by as I haven't seen one on eBay since I started surfing for norfeds.

Some very nice $20 base norfed rounds on ebay at the moment ......... Some have a small mintage of only 500 ;)

"Shelter System" 1 oz. NORFED sold recently for around 300$. It was without capsule, but it seems that in perfect condition. Oh my, how prices fell....

Think positive mate @Stark. Everything material has its ups & downs on market! 300$USD I'm assuming it went for?..... For a 1000> mintage 1oz silver round is still great money  The key is accumulating the <500 mintage's on the downturns or when collectors get loose hands & move on. Still a lot of norfeds that command high & higher prices due to their rarity, & I feel that long term holders of these that can sit it out through the churn will be rewarded handsomely by the numismatic community in years to come.

    Hi All

I’m ashamed that it’s been a year since I was last posting on the forum.

It seems that Bitcoin has captured peoples attention. Me, I’ll stick with hard currencies.

I’m the person from the UK that apparently has one of the best collections. Prices may go down or up, that’s the market.

Yes, Silver I do have the original Pattern and 1oz Dala as well as one of the three proof sets. If I ever decided to sell them I’ll let you know.

I’ve an idea for linking hard currencies with an ICO, anybody interested get in touch.

    Peter

SilverSoul- I picked up a 1993 gold 1/10 oz royal Hawaiian mint king kamehameha piece a few weeks back...was told only 85 were minted, can you confirm that number or the rarity of the piece?

Peter-good to see you back bud. If you ever want to unload your pattern piece, I'd love me to get in the bidding war as well

Hi mate I'm not sure so try here: http://www.royalhawaiianmint.com/issues-by-year/1990-1994-issues.html?p=2

If you click on any of the issues they will normally give you the mintage of that piece. As far as I am aware only the Dala 2007 pieces are true norfed liberty dollar rounds!

    Thanks Silver Soul.

Although a collector, everything has its price (if only to help fund other purchases). So if anyone is looking for something rare, there’s a chance I may have one and may be persuaded if the offer is high enough.

On the other hand, I’m convinced that “Liberty’s day will come” when people regain their senses about Bitcoin. Ones early in, well done - they were recommended to me two years ago and I ignored the advice because I didn’t have a lot of time for his opinions - my loss. Have reconsidered but wouldn’t buy at current prices. Wouldn’t trust governments not to do something.

    Hi Bremarti

Yes I do. As I said everything has its price.

I'd let it go for the right bid, but think at least one other memeber would be interested.

I purchased two 1998 Norfeds on eBay recently, a pristine one for $340 and one with a slight abrasion on Liberty's cheek for $250...been looking to get one for 4 years, but the auctions all sold for $600+. Also scored two 2004 one ounce Norfeds for $30 apiece on eBay. I am wondering if or when norfeds might become certifiable by ngc or pcgs, or will they be legally deemed counterfeits forever...the trial and delayed sentencing both seemed purely political, maybe because people were getting wise to the (not)Federal (no)Reserve privately owned scam of our central bank.

Yes has been some very nice 2004 on ebay. The postage is the killer for me :(. But I'm still mopping up anything in the 500 mintage.... A no brainer

Anyone here collect Norfed certificates? I debating if I should or shouldn't start collecting them.

Bought two small 1/10 ounce, $5 norfeds with New Hampshire moose hallmark and "live free or die" motto on the back. Nothing pristine condition, too. Does anyone know the mintage on this gorgeous little coin?

Many thousands of the naked back 1/10 would have been minted. CH would've hallmarked heaps too with his moose mark.

Hi mate. I have been told that the norfed dala certificate is the rare one! This was many years ago by Jeff K. I suppose if you can pick one up cheap enough it could be the corner stone for collecting the series? Personally I don't collect them, but good luck if you do go ahead with them
