I think a very wise decision to make. https://www.silverstackers.com/foru...ps-for-keeping-track-of-your-portfolio.17897/ https://www.google.com.au/search?bi...-wiz.......0i71j33i22i29i30j33i21.1hUOo9rQSeI I run a spreadsheet that tabulates all data (holdings) and revals my holdings using current spot rates. Everyone finds what works for them....have a look see / google.
You could use a spreadsheet in EXCEL on the computer. Punch in the daily price of gold & silver multiplied by your ounces & it automatically tells you your worth in fiat bits of paper. Sorry Oddjob, I didn't see your post until I posted mine.
This is what happened in Turkey. The private gold deposited in Turkish banks are basically part of bank reserves.
I keep a log in Excel, recording the dates, price, dealer name, receipt numbers, and also soft copy of all the receipts in my laptop. I seal all my bars and coins in multiple layers of zip lock bags and label them - dates/dealer/receipt numbers. In the future, I may print a hardcopy of the log and store it with the bars for estate purpose.
Here is a rough guide to how to use your spreadsheet. p.s. the figures are not my stash, plus you can fill in your other stuff such as cash, bank, etc. where I have the question marks. CHEERS, and a HAPPY CHRISTmas FROM _JLG. The figures in the gold & silver columns opposite the DATE should have been in red(buyback price)
