Hi everybody New poster here, been stacking for a while. I'm 27 years old and work as an economist. I became interested in PM investing after looking into the energy consumption necessary that is necessary for growth. After asking a professor at the uni "Why does every economic model allow for infinite growth when ressources are inherently finite" I was told that it was a ridiculous question, and the the market would correct it self. After that I decided to look into it myself, and what I found was troubling. Fast forward, and here I am. I look forward to discussing PMs and other stuff with all of you. Cheers, DKStacker
Sounds like a bloke with good old common sense. Say hello to Mary next time you call in for a cuppa! OC
G'day I look forward to reading the posts from an economist that understands exponential growth in a finite world just might not work? Also interested in any cycling info you care to share (I'm assuming that all Danes ride bikes lol)
An economist who isn't touting the party line...I wish you luck in keeping your job! At least you will have precious metals to fall back on. So if gold and silver are finite resources and the population is expanding rapidly will we not eventually reach a time when there is not enough gold and silver to act as a medium of exchange or a store of wealth? Then what? If the population has infinite growth then surely so should the money supply. Wasn't it Keynes who said that you could increase the money supply as long as you increased the new goods and services? As long as the supply and demand ratio didn't become lopsided you wouldn't get rampant inflation or deflation. Anyway, Welcome!
Welcome! It's refreshing to see an economist who understands that unlimited growth in a finite world is quite ludicrous.
Hey mate - welcome - I'm English living in Aus - glad to see another European on the board. I'll forgive you the pig killing - but damn the bacon is GOOD! I have a v good friend from DK called Kid Massive, if you ever heard of him?
That old infinite growrh in a finite world thing sounds hackkneed.... I heard it that much. The common reply you'll get is that human ingenuity wilk provide through technology. People think we are going to make a car that has oxygen for exhaust. By the way, love Trentemoller out of Kopenhagen. Excellent producer and dj.
Thanks for the great welcome. Can't say that I have. Even though we're a small country we don't all know each other.
Well spoken and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on the Euro, the Zone and perhaps Vikings. Welcome
That's funny, I live in Odense Not sure that I have anything to say about vikings other than they're bad ass!
