This guy signed up to the forum today and asked about an item I'm selling, i responded, and then he asked if i had facebook, so I said no.
And he hasnt wrote back since. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Just wondering if he has contacted anyone else and asked for details.

Too many people assume that "being on Facebook" is a sign of legitimacy.

I'm not on Facebook because I don't trust a some private organization to decide my worthiness (or otherwise) to engage in interactions with other people.

Don't blame the guy, blame the conditioning he's been subjected to. Trust existed outside of Facebook.

Hey billybob8888, can you confirm Bmb1987 is a 'he' and not a 'she'.

I'm sure we all know that social media and precious metals are a great combination to target the unsuspecting for a major clean out.

Most of us remember what happened to a few of our members especially around Christmas and New Year.

It's important to flag this type of suspicious activity, it could be just an over friendly new member or something a little more sinister.

Feel free to pm me a copy of your pm approach if you want, I'm just a little curious.

They could be fishing for addresses from either GPS tagged photos (EXIF) or the 'Places' feature of Facebook.

Yeah definitely dodgy, havent heard back from the member since. Seems more interested in my personal details more than the item i was selling
