    Hello All,

Received a package in the mail today of some bullion silver coins, and felt like sharing my very gradual progress into stacking some real money.

Because the photo isn't clear (damn camera phone), what is in the picture is the following:

    - 2011 Australian Kookaburra
    - 2010 Australian Kookaburra
    - 2009 Australian Kookaburra
    - 2008 Australian Kookaburra
    - 1997 Australian Kookaburra
    - 2010 Mexican Libertad
    - 1993 Mexican Libertad
    - 2009 Chinese Panda
    - 2008 Austrian Philharmoniker
    - 1989 Canadian Maple
    - 1987 American Silver Eagle

I am a collector at heart, so my initial plans are to collect complete sets of the bullion coins by year. I have picked up a bit of everything so far, so I can pick up the best value coins when money is tight, and when I have some spare fiat floating around I can pick up some of the rarer, pricier items.

There is nothing like holding silver in the hand - there is nothing like it!

    Very nice!

Is it just me, or is the Mexican Libertad a really pretty coin? I had never come across a Philharmoniker before either. Congratulations.

Nice collection happening. I am an advocate for having goals and strategies in mind. Collecting world coins and collecting a coin series can surely assist one to 'stay on the ball', obtain a sense of accomplishment and simply accumulate shiny. cheers for the pic :)

Bloody nice mate. Was that just a mixed bag buy from BB or something? I can't recall if it was from BB or some other local dealer, but they offered 1oz of the most common varieties of silver to kickstart your stack.

Feels bloody marvelous to be holding real money though, isn't it?

Aiming to collect sets are a good motivator - even if I pick up a few ounces a month, it is pleasing to see the collection growing.

I have spent a lot of time fondling the Kooks, they are truly a handsome coin.

I have picked up the coins from all over the place - both Australian and Overseas dealers. It is gradually getting more difficult to pick up the coins I need domestically, especially with all the Chinese Panda coins I still need to pick up.

Had two new additions to the stack today...

    - 2011 United Kingdom Britannia
    - 2008 United Kingdom Britannia

I wasn't sure about the Britannias, the premium tends to be a little bit insane. Plus, the odd purity was also a concern but hell, I quite like them.

    Anyone else here into Britannias?

Have some more coins coming in the mail - stay tuned!

    Hi Meezio,
yes i'm into Britannias. I reckon they are THE best readily available silver coin on the market. I just wish they were 999, but then they wouldn't be Britannias then :)

My favourite is the 2003 Britannia's Helmet design. I have a guilded version as well which really makes her stand out. After seeing that coin, surely no-one can say that the AGE or Libertad is the best looking coin going.
Keep up the stacking. There are a few designs that i'm yet to get. If you get duplicates then i'm all ears if you want to sell or trade.
    Cheers

I like Libertads, but personally, I think the 2011 Britannia would have to be one of the best looking silver coins around.
