This is the mini gold coin collection I've put together since Jan 14. Aim of the collection is a saving scheme for my 5yr old daughter which will hopefully be a nice deposit on a house by the time she's 18 or 21. Got a 1/10 lunar tiger, ox and snake coming in the post from oz/germany which will bring the 1/10 Lunar series II up to date. Surprising how it builds up in a short period of time, the money invested in this would have otherwise been spent on crap The obsessive compulsive part of me would love to cut open those 1986/2005 panda's and stick them in the square capsules but I will resist! 1/4 2013 Canadian Maple 1/4 2014 Chinese Panda 1/10 2013 Australian Kangaroo 1/20 2013 Year of the snake 1/4 2013 Krugerrand 1/4 2013 Philharmonica 1/4 Gold eagle 1/2 of Proof Angel 1/4 Britannia 1/10 Lunar Dragon 1/10 Lunar Horse Valaurium gold note - miners Valaurium gold note - prosperity Valaurium gold note - santa 1/10 Lunar Rabbit 1/4 2009 Chinese Panda 1/10 Lunar Mouse 1/10 Lunar Tiger 1/10 2005 Chinese Panda (mint sealed) 1/10 2005 Chinese Panda (mint sealed) 1/10 2005 Chinese Panda (mint sealed) 1/10 2005 Chinese Panda (mint sealed) 1/10 Lunar Snake 1/10 Lunar Ox 1986 Panda 5 coin set (1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz 1/20oz)
Great job on collecting. I can tell you are a saver, which is a Good quality to have. I have a daughter just a little younger than yours and I plan to give so to her when she is older, but mine is more for general investing and diversification, vs. passing it down. I wanted to collect something that I enjoyed looking at, and that had real value you could hold, feel, and touch. I also have accumulated a nice of silver for only 5 weeks into this, but I after my rapid accumulation, I don't see much buying in the near future. as I am broke. My current ratio is 75% Gold and 25% silver and I plan to get more silver still because I want certain coins, but Gold is going to be my main focus because it is easier to handle, just harder to buy $$$$. I have been stacking for 5 weeks and went a little overboard and purchased very but that doesn't mean they are always true. A true stacker never discloses his stack, but it is interesting to see what other people have, like all the videos on You Tube.. I love watching those.
Nice gold collection, and in such a short time. Keep stacking at this rate and in a few years you will have a HUGE gold collection.
Nice collection! 2 questions: 1) Why do you buy small coins (e.g. 1/10 oz), since the premium is so high? Why not wait a bit longer and buy 1/2 oz or 1 oz coins? 2) I hope you put this in the bank, and don't keep it at home!!!!!
Mostly 1/4 oz that I pick up when they are on offer so the premium isnt that far off 1/2 or 1oz coins. The lunar series are 1/10 and some Panda's that I got for a very good price too.
Another to add to the collection, a 1980 quintuple sovereign. Have to say I think this is my new favorite coin (probably because its huge )
Fantastic collection of coins. This is exactly what i'm doing for my 1 year old daughter (and any future children). I'm looking to go for 1oz gold coins so will take me quite a bit longer to save up for each one. I've already wrote else where that i shall invest in my first gold coin going into the new year.
Meh, no need for competition when it comes to gold coins. We all buy what we like and can afford and we are all proud of our acquisitions.
I'd be over the moon getting home on a gloomy day and pulling a few of those out! (hopefully the rest will be in a safety deposit box somewhere).
Today's acquisitions - 1oz 2005 panda, 1oz Isle of Man Angel Mexican 50 peso 1oz 1986 Eagle 1oz 2014 Buffalo
