I see the rim dent now - all I can say is in perfect condition my customers would pay up to $3k - but if there are any dents, wear etc that would be reduced by up to approx 33% off that figure. Hope this helps. Cheers, VRS

Unless you need the cash, hold on to this coin until the gold price recovers from its current low. Not a great time to be selling at the moment.

I've no intention of selling at all. It was a wedding gift.
Imma sit on it like a hen does her eggs. ;)

    Congratulations! Great wedding present.

My first foray into Sovereigns was also with a 5 Sovereign coin back in 1989. It is a 1984 UK 5 Sovereign BU coin. Benedetto Pistrucci's classic St George slaying a dragon design and its hefty weight got me hooked. Since then I've added quite a few more (both BU and proof). Here's my latest addition...

Have you got either a 2007 or 2008?
Re cut Die edition, only made in those 2 years.

    I've got a 1984 proof "Quinty"

Someone must have split a set, as it's in the correct Royal Mint capsule.
Picture's in the gold coin picture thread, page 11 or 12

Want to get it graded here in UK but don't know where to send it.
And I'm nervous about it actually getting there/back to me.

    It is my favourite coin

    A work of art.
