it's difficult to say all coins from worldwide selling from 1oz.si are fake, at least it's not easy to create all those dices for so many different coins.
I doubt if 1oz.si is aware the panda coins are fake when they first imported the coins. After all, 1oz.si is not specialized in any particular coin if they sell such large varieties.

with all due respect I suspect that this seller knew 150% that what he was selling in this case was fake.

Definitely get your money back ... the seller should be straightup and refund but if not hound him until he does.

    Silverfever,

I also had ordered the same Panda from the dealer. As soon I as got it, I was immediately disappointed. I knew it was a fake. I emailed him first about it being fake. NEVER responded. Finally went through paypal dispute and got his attention. In the end, I got my full refund.

    Here is the dialog:

This is not an authentic 2000 'Mirrored' Silver Panda

First, the OMP is not correct for this panda.

I have references to show that this is not the real thing

Also the top part of the plastic cover was open, which leads me to think that it was placed in it.

    I would like a refund.

How do we go about doing this

Pia Springer denied Buyer's request for a $342.61 USD refund.

NOT FAIR!!! You're bought and received exact coin that is in the picture - please see all three images one more times!

Send me the coin back and I will refund you your money...

Hard to see picture... plus upon further inspection... this is not an authentic Panda.. I have references again to verify.. and if I send this coin in to NCG, I know it will get rejected. You just don't know until you see the coin IN PERSON.. how about refund of the price of the coin... I will pay for the shipping back to you. I was referred to you by Silver stacker Forums.

    respectfully,

    Eric

PS NOT FAIR IF I PAID $300 for a coin that I expect to be the real deal!!!

    From Seller - Pia Springer4/2/2012 05:08 PDT
No problem ... Please send me a coin back.

Send me a tracking number and I'll return the money!

    Regards

Wow! Even after this ordeal the seller keeps selling the same coin and keep on scamming people! So it is proven that the seller knew about fake coin before selling to silverfever. This seller should be banned and reported for criminal scam. Unbelievable!

Same here. He told me bought the coin from the World Money Fair in Berlin and will refund me my money if I send him back the coin. Robert seemed pretty polite on his emails.

Anyway, I have already emailed him the tracking # and am now waiting for a refund. At least he is offering a refund. I will keep everyone posted when I receive my refund.

I have weighed all my coins that have bought from him and they all weigh 1.3 ozs including the capsules which is the same weight as my silver maples so they all seem to be ok.

I don't mean to seem to be defending him but in all due fairness, I did purchase this coin before the other stacker complained about the fake panda. Anyways according to him, he is out of the business of selling older pandas. He is sticking to the 2010, 2011 2012 non rare types.

Refund received from Robert Petek. I have to give him 2 thumbs up for after sales service. He refunded me even before he received his coin back. A+++++++++. He even refunded my original shipping charge.

That is good to hear. Earlier I incorrectly assumed the sold you deliberately, assuming the other guy bought before you. However - all good, and certainly he seems to be an honest seller.

I send this seller e-mail last year and ask him 3 questions.

    1. Why the price is so cheap.
    2. Can you guaranteed it's authentic coin.
    3. Can you sell this coin on E-bay. (The seller sells on E-bay too).

The seller never responded to my e-mail.

Silvertowne has for sale 2000 China Silver Panda for US$389.95

But it doesn't say if it frosted or mirrored. My guest it's a frosted one.

From my dealings with him, Robert is actually familiar with this forum and very concerned about his reputation.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he refunded.

If he does not sell Pandas as a main line of business it would not be surprising for him to be unable to tell a fake from a legit rare panda. I know if you shoved some Britannias in front of me I wouldn't be able to tell what year has what design.

I am sure there are many unscrupulous sellers out there who take your cash and bail but at least we know he doesn't do so and isn't unscrupulous :).

Agreed ... seems fairly reputable but if one or more people have already returned one of these identical 2000 pandas as a fake, as a "reputable" dealer should not there be some responsibilty to do just a little research on an item that has already been returned a FAKE before selling that same item or one like it to another buyer?

    I know that I would ...

Anyway glad to see that the seller did the right thing and refunded money.

Look like seller is scamming people who does not know their pandas well .
If the seller does not know his panda and got scam at the world money fair, what give him the right to scam others. What a lowly seller ..

I hate to bash but I have to agree with Lim since this WAS NOT the first report to this seller of 2000 fakes.

Silver stacker panda forum strikes back again.
Hopefully we will run the bad bear sellers out of eBay.

so, do this seller should be avoided or should be given a good feedback?

He has various items which is tempting and he offer quite fair shipping cost for international buyer
