Just received my 2000 mirrored panda I ordered for $350.00 shipped. I don't know if it is fake or authentic; or even frosted or mirrored. It came in OMP double sealed. There is the words Shenzhen Guobao Mint on the border of the mint pack.
I have included some pictures for your examination. Please help since I am very new to the Panda game.

    Have you weighed the coin??

Looking at the year date at bottom of coin, it looks abit funny but it might be the light in the photo's........not sure.

And the nose doesnt look right to me, just my opinion.

I hate to say it, but its a fake.

The nose shouldnt have a black nostril, I'm looking at photos from Pandacollectors website right now, and I remember looking at my frosted only just yesterday.

Maybe Yennus, Fishball or Com could judge?

Good info, didn't know the difference between Shanghai & Shenyang for 2000 myself :)

I was looking at the nose, the poor fur texture, the bad looking '2000' date, the dark area around 10 Yuan which suggests plating.

This is a classing plating error dark spot fake. Usually you get plating error below "z" of "oz" or on the nose, where the plating is incomplete. You can find the reference for these two at china mint forum, or Peter's website.

It's fake based on the pics provided.

it appears fake ... definitely looks like a mirror (Shanghai Mint) in a Shenzhen Guobao pouch ... BSOD appears as well unless really bad photo or angles.

Let's all look more closely and we can probably find more things wrong with it.

The finish on the panda side looks like the finish on a frosted but the temple side is obviously mirrored ...

I could be wrong but it doesnt look good.

My mistake . The panda wasn't double sealed. The vendor slit opened a Shenzhen Guobao mint pack and slipped the coin in the pouch. I have been scammed. :(
I wonder if I can file a item not as described claim from paypal.

Of course you can - assuming the seller did not declare this as a replica or copy. $350 for a mirrored 2000 panda is too good to be true. As they say - for coin collecting if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

what a low life piece of crap if the seller knew this ... seller should be reported and exposed.

Seller is responsible for selling authentic items ... if you bought through ebay you should be protected

If you haven't purchased through Ebay, this is a completely different ball game. I would recommend trying to settle this with the seller if you have good terms with him. I am assuming that he sold it to you by mistake. If he knew he is selling a fake, all bets are off. Reverting a direct paypal charge is difficult, and usually more power to the seller, since many buyers try to scam reputed sellers as well.

It IS going to be difficult,
The fact that the seller is selling 2000 mirrored panda for $350 really shows that they are aware that the coin is fake
