    Hi all,

I recently picked up 2 of these 1oz 99.99 gold buttons by MG (Matthew Garret?) and wondered if anyone could shed some light on where, when and how many were made or if they are still in production.
My reading has turned up ZIP as per normal so any and all help would be appreciated. I also wouldn't mind any hints as to what they might be worth.

Thanks guys, so you think they might be Mathew Garret, but jewelers gold rather than an investment bar?

Good point, so would then be a Matthew Garret ingot. Anyone want to hazard a guess if it is a "collectable" or not?

    Cheers.

It's such a nice looking ingot a few pics should be posted in the Rare, Collectable and Vintage Gold tread.
If someone fancies it, you might be able to squeeze an extra $50 above spot in Oz.
Germans and Americans collectors are the ones who will pay a decent premium on these cast bars if it fits into their collection.

    Matthey with a 'y', not Matthew with a 'w'
