I wonder if part of the deal with the SDF handing over Manbij and all the northern border to the Syrian Government, will include the oil fields in the east of the country?

One out, another one in: Retreating US military meets advancing Syrian Army (VIDEO)

In the annals of bombastic Trump tweets, this one is simply astonishing: here we have a President of the United States, on the record, unmasking the whole $8-trillion intervention in the Middle East as an endless war based on a “false premise.” No wonder the Pentagon is not amused.

Trump’s tweet bisects the surreal geopolitical spectacle of Turkey attacking a 120-kilometer-long stretch of Syrian territory east of the Euphrates to essentially expel Syrian Kurds. Even after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cleared with Trump the terms of the Orwellian-named “Operation Peace Spring,” Ankara may now face the risk of US economic sanctions.

The predominant Western narrative credits the Syrian Democratic Forces, mostly Kurdish, for fighting and defeating Islamic State, also known as Daesh. The SDF is essentially a collection of mercenaries working for the Pentagon against Damascus. But many Syrian citizens argue that ISIS was in fact defeated by the Syrian Arab Army, Russian aerial and technical expertise plus advisers and special forces from Iran and Hezbollah.

As much as Ankara may regard the YPG Kurds – the “People’s protection units” – and the PKK as mere “terrorists” (in the PKK’s case aligned with Washington), Operation Peace Spring has in principle nothing to do with a massacre of Kurds.

when sanctions are on, the rest would be locked up, no entry. no exit
all locks are replaced with new ones.
the missiles would be removed, but the nukes would remains.

Isn’t it clear by now Erodogan and Trump are putting up the greatest act? I read somewhere that the US actually wants Turkey to get the S400 so they can study it.

Nonsense. The wedge between America and Turkey is the greatest it has ever been. This is not some act to heist the s400. If it was even a possibility then Russia would never export it.

As for the nukes, it doesn't matter what happens to them. I wouldn't be surprised if Turkey announces a Nuclear program, its next on the to do list of crackpot dictators.

Syria will get every inch of their land under their SAA control

RUSSIAN MILITARY POLICE, SYRIAN ARMY DEPLOYED IN MANBIJ AFTER US TROOPS WITHDRAWAL

On October 14, a coalition of Turkish-backed militant groups, the Syrian National Army, announced an advance on Manbij. However, no large-scale clashes with the Syrian Army or notable offensive attempts by Turkish-led forces took place.

Russian MoD says US protects oil smugglers in Syria, offers aerial images as proof
    https://www.rt.com/news/471891-syria-oil-smuggling-images/
Moscow released photos it claims show the real reason the US wants to keep troops in eastern Syria: to protect the illegal oil trade and reap large profits.
On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry published aerial images of what it said is clear proof of Syrian crude oil being massively smuggled outside of the country “under the strong protection of the US.”

The black and white images are said to show scores of tanker trucks, supposedly loaded with crude oil, scattered in the oil-rich northeastern province of Deir ez-Zor. Dozens of trucks were spotted near the Daman oil-gathering facility, 42km east of the city of Deir ez-Zor, as well as near Mayadin.

The trucks taking part in the smuggling operations are being protected by “US troops and the personnel of the US private military companies,” Defense Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov said.

Whenever a convoy gets attacked, the US special forces and military jets are being called in to defend it.

US President Donald Trump declared that US troops would be pulling out of Syria earlier this month. Pentagon chief Mark Esper, however, later clarified that some soldiers would be deployed to Deir ez-Zor to secure the oil fields from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) militants.

Konashenkov accused the US of trying to keep its foothold in the region, continuing to exploit Syrian resources.

What Washington is doing right now is seizing and holding the oilfields in eastern Syria under its armed control, which is tantamount to international state-sponsored banditry.

The major general further claimed that the revenue from the illegal oil trade goes through the brokerage companies and ultimately lands in the hands of the “American private military contractors and the US security agencies.”

This is the real reason the Pentagon wants to “protect the oilfields in Syria from the mythical ‘ISIS secret cells’ forever,” Konashenkov said.
