I have a 1982 Proof George Washington Commemorative Half Dollar. They come in mint capsules. I noticed small frosting on the left side of the coin as you can see in the picture. I'm sending the coin back for an exchange. However I don't want the new coin to develope frosting. I realize someone could of touched it before I owned it, but I just wanted to be sure. Did the U.S. Mint during 1982 use none PVC capsules at this time? Is it worth buying a new air-tite for the coin to protect it or is the mint capsule perfectly safe for it? Thanks for the feed back!
