If nothing else, it make a good history video. I do have to agree the US is going down, though the FED will keep things propped up as long as possible. Maybe that's one reason all of the police depts are getting the military surplus vehicles and weapons, to keep us in line when things fall apart.
Yes! And nobody is more pessimistic than me. It will NOT be just the USA, but like a rock in a pond. OC
Be careful what you wish for... An unstable USA is not necessarily a good thing for the rest of the world. Though you may dislike our 'open-source' system of government, innovation, tolerance, and personal freedom - you might dislike it even more, when a different system of government replaces it, in the event that America fails. If America sneezes... The world will catch pneumonia - and the ultimate cure will be very slow and painful, indeed.
Couldn't the same thing be also said about China? It doesn't have all the debt the US has but it's big enough that if it sneezed it should affect the world, especially places like Australia. Some say that one day China will have the world's biggest economy.
"Some say that one day China will have the world's biggest economy." Not for a bloody long time! China has about HALF of the GDP that the USA produces, but much of what both governments announce is BS, nobody knows fact from fiction. And with China building HUGE cities to keep he workers working and spending, all these skyscrapers are being built with borrowed money, and are EMPTY. That is a rolled gold guarantee of financial disaster down the track. Get back to me when the PRC has actually surpassed the US economy, maybe in 50 years. OC
Julie, Actually, I think this hypothetical scenario is irrelevant. If events come to pass as i expect, then GDP figures, and much else, will be meaningless. We are so interdependent and interrelated that customers in the US will drag down factories in China, and the mess will be world wide. OC
What % growth do you think will be the long term trend in US GDP? Please give a figure and explain reasons why it will achieve that figure. And how is the US going to escape it's monumental debt?
Skyrocket, See #11. It is all a hypothetical question and scenario. I simply do not think that the US will stay in recession/depression for 20 years. Neither will the PRC. I also do not believe that the PRC claims of 7% growth are accurate. NOBODY can produce a accurate picture for the next 20 years for any country. The bad things that are going to happen, are certain in ALL of them. JMO OC
I beg to differ..........................there are all mighty s in the know..................it has 2 plans in case the first fails. And that depends who's side your on. Just thinking ........ http://www.mrctv.org/videos/heritage-foundation-panelist-radical-islam
