Thanks everyone, especially the old hands who set things up and ensured there was more than enough trading to keep everyone entertained. As a noob I found it very worthwhile.
Good to see lots of new faces - must be one of the highest numbers of new members I've see at a meeting. Also the usual bargains to be had in the auction - 1800s shield half sovereigns for ~$210, Morgan and Peace dollars for a dollar over spot (unbelievable), tube of Phillies for $750 etc.
Just like to say thankyou to everyone that attended today. At least 35 people attended today's meetup. Thanks to those that travelled from great distances to make it. All the way from Geelong and even as far as Gippsland. Great to see alot of new members as well as the regulars. We started off the meeting with a "question and answers" discussion. Some great questions were asked! Good to hear everyone getting into a discussion as well as learning a few new things. Then we got right into the auction! Some great items were up for sale. A great place to pick up a bargain. I picked up a 1oz Proof 2012 Dragon for $160. A 1/10th Gold Lunar Horse Coin in benzel for $210. 2oz Silver Dragon Coin for $86. 2oz Tigers $100 each. Some gold coins went for under spot! My highlight was seeing the Tiffany's 2oz Silver Coin that Spanner Monkey had. This thing was only 2oz of silver with a coloured glass insert inside it. Spanner Monkey showed me one on ebay that was currently being bid at US $3200+ with 2 days to go on his ipad. That's a crazy price for a 2oz modern numismatic coin. If you put in in perspective it's the equivalent price of 2 Ounces of Gold! He jokingly put it up for auction starting at $50... but quickly ended it. I don't think anyone is crazy enought to pay that much for one at the meetup. He should get a good price on ebay for it! Anyways another successful meetup. Thanks again to everyone that made it. I had a ball, i really enjoyed it. Fantastic to meet you guys. What great bargains!! The coin spanner monkey had really is something to be seen, i nearly fell over when he showed me the ebay sale taking place. First time i have seen one of those ipad tablet things too! Big thanks to radiobirdman who drove me into the city, i would have got lost for sure. Sold some gold, bought some gold, and a kooka! Was very happy driving home with my new coins! I will organize to come to the xmas meeting. Cheers guys Duncan
Excellent meeting,very social got to meet a lot of new faces. Great to see the kids there at this meeting.Some independant bidding by the youngsters had some of the parents worried (Arrgghummm,clears the throat) Also awesome seeing a lot of the ladies there,still trying to convince my partner to come along! She thinks its an esoteric two up club with cigars and beer swilling. Thanks to Adrians great organisational ability and efforts in setting the meeting up and providing the ever increasing variety of nibbles..CherryRipes--What a winner!!! ---Update-- Voodoo dolls are being made up as a package deal with 10 pins included some brick dust,newt powder and 6 candles. And again i have to ask the Question."WHERE THE HELL WAS HIHO" ???????????? REDBACK

Glad you liked the Cherry Ripes!!! Was a bit worried the weather was too hot and would of melted them. And worried there was actually too much chocolate. However all the Mars bars, Snickers and Cherry Ripes disappeared! Good the see they were all eaten! I'll get more for next time.

A fellow member has kindly offered his restaurant for the next meeting. I'm creating a special event which involves having lunch aswell. Still finalizing details. The easter holidays is getting in the way. Stay tuned.
