Found myself needing to crack open our last monster box of ASEs, to fill an order for a single coin.

Didn't want to. So I did the ring around of all the other dealers in Melbourne.

This was everybody I know, and I know everybody.

I even asked those other people (who I rarely ever visit), just for the exercise.

Nobody has a single 12014 ASE.

One company had a single 2010, and Gold Digger had two tubes of older issues sitting there. Apart from that .... Nada.

It's supposed to be the world's most popular coin, but you can't get one in Melbourne for love or currency.

So that's it ... Time to crack that Monster Box. Who wants some tubes and singles?

maybe they are sold out because they are popular :)

I personally think the Australian coins ( kooks, crocs, koals's) are far better than the American rubbish however ( one design that does not change-- boring ).

I stack mostly eagles. Yeah, it would be nice to see a new design.

"..but you can't get one in Melbourne for love.."

Do you think maybe a shave, some lipstick and a new dress could have helped there?

I am not surprised. The US Mint was around in 1014. :)

Depending on the price, I'd be interested in buying some tubes.

I don't have any ASEs, what's the damage in a tube? Not that I'm especially looking for more 1oz coins.

Obviously I was offering the wrong kind, or at least not sufficient to get me an Eagle.

Much easier to obtain up there in Sydney it seems.
