    Hi Stackers,

    Thought I'd start this thread to track mainstream media.

    Any news articles or tv reviews etc...either post link or summarise here.

    I did see something about gold on that most banal of 'news' shows, A Current Affair (a few months ago)...had to endure Tracy until the segment came on. No mention of silver, just gold and mainly in the context of selling jewellery.

    Good idea Mi$$ Honey. I think if we work together and post all the media reports out there, it will help us identify where we are on the parabolic curve within the Mania Phase - media attention-enthusiasm-greed-delusion...etc.

    Now just a rider - these are 'news' reports with no more commentary than 'gee whiz you would have made x% if you'd bought back when' reports in the popular media. Commentaries by long term silver and gold commentators don't count I presume.

    I'm usually monitoring the media, so from now on I'll post my findings in this thread rather than in lots of separate threads.

    Also, if rbaggio hadn't pulled a combo breaker I wouldn't have posted at this time :p

    I'm waiting for the ABC news to add price of silver to Aus dollar and price of gold in their market roundups. That will be my first indicator.

    JulieW Yes on ABC news at 7pm, Alan Kohler seldom mention silver and when he does he does so in an unusual way. Eg> The price of silver rose 1.4% in todays NY trading.....The price of silver fell nearly $4 in trading in NY. What a contrast!

    I think you may have to wait a while longer to see the price of silver on every night. When this happens it will indicate that silver has at last been noticed by the general public.

    Can any overseas SS members tell us if they get similar 'at close of trading the Australian dollar was 1.07 US' type messages every hour or so on the news.

    Now that has to have an effect on the popular perception of the Oz economy.

    I tend to think it a symptom of our inferiority complex cultural cringe. 'Look at us we're really important - no really important'.

    The Article basically said that when the global economy recovers then gold will drop. It is negative about gold and does not mention silver at all. Quite a long article. Article written by Carolyn Cui.......New York

    When Koche's G string is lined with Gold, we will then know it is mainstream media.......we just need someone on the inside to tell us... :eek:

    Jim Rogers make sense to me and he's not selling unless it rushes to 100 so he says.
    I also expect it to retrace a bit - the bull shaking off the weak is the way it's put I believe.
    I'm just waiting to see it all wind out now.

    AFR today.. no big articles on silver, but a mention along with gold in an article re. Ben Bernanke hoping people will recapitalise in USA if he keeps inflation down. Author NOT bullish on silver.. reakons the price hike is the work of the chinese people... hopefully we get a price fall soon..I want more :)
