Business must be booming for the boys at bullion now, with these low manipulated gold price that we are having at the present time.

The only item I really liked in that gold porn show and tell was the one kilo kangaroo coin, and as the boys said even old lizzie looked
    quite presentable on there.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't understand how anyone could go for a gold bar over a beautiful shiny gold coin especially if the prices are similar.

Help me out people, what is it about a plain, boring, and easily fakeable bar or ingot that makes you want to purchase it more than a gold coin?

If I was throwing that kind of money around an extra 2K seems logical for the coin.
Mind you those gold bricks would be fun to handle.

Non legal tender status, serialised, no worries about damaging the bar vs the coin etc...

Plus the most important fact of all , that once you have seen one bar you have seen them all!

Great for those who are blind or cant see properly anymore to appreciate things of beauty any longer.

Also recommended for those with weak hearts, where the sudden excitement or adrenaline rush associated with viewing things of great appeal and beauty
could lead to cardiac arrest and or premature demise.

No thanks lads, I will stick with my coins, call me reckless if you wish, but I still like a bit of excitement in my life:D

Now excuse me while go and eulogise over my latest auction acquisitions including a nice early USA $10 Indian head coin. :)

That is true, nothing unique about bars. I would much prefer a stack of old world gold vs a kilo coin with her royal ugliness on the back though. Much better ways to spend tens of thousands in my opinion!

Yes I agree with you there, I only said I liked that 1kg kangaroo coin in relation to the other things that were shown on that video.

Personally I don't buy any sort of precious metal coins any more that are bigger than 1 ounce ( apart from silver ).

In the future it will become too difficult to keep the sales of these larger coins under the radar as the prices raise.

I also enjoy the old historical gold coins over the modern collector produced ones, but the one thing that these coins have going against them
is that they attract the gst, which means that if you have an emergency and need to sell a stack of these coins quickly to raise needed funds,
the coin shops and gold dealers will give you a very poor price for them.

That is the reason that I sold the majority of my old-time world gold coin collection and converted the proceeds into gst free modern bullion coins.
