Why?...because more and more it's resembling a Govt. owned enterprise. It's employees are relying on internal politics not technical innovation to advance themselves. As a result only the "content free 'political animals' in the company succeed. http://charleshughsmith.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/competence-creativity-mastery-genius.html
Just need to look at their dismal failure Xbox One to see where they are heading. It's the realisation of 1984's Telescreens able to 'intelligently' watch you, watching it. Max Keiser recently estimated as much as 20% of profitability is being lost by the forced implementation of NSA 'back door' protocols being built into both hardware & software produced by US tech giants.
The Zune was another fascinating failure. Did Microsoft really think that they could copy Apple's iPod and iTunes? Microsoft always fall flat when they try and do "cool"
that's interesting isn't it. both companies are making good profits but investors say aapl is better. I wonder what dividend yields look like.
AAPL stopped paying dividends in 1995, had 2-for-1 stock splits in 2000 and 2005, then re-introduced dividends in 2012.
Considering most people use it on a desktop, laptop, notebook/netbook etc w/o touchscreen, why o why did they make the (tablet style) interface the way they did? The mousepad action is a bastard. Windows 7 is fine. Glad 8 is not on my primary device.
buggy? I don't know about that. I've used it a bit set it up for people etc. you can get rid of the tile screen now with 8.1 install a third party start menu and your back to windows 7. Windows 8 is much better though performance wise, which says a lot because windows 7 was also a vast improvement.
I guess you could assume from Charleshughsmith's article that the same rules apply to any company, industry...or even nation. Once risk has been contained by monopolisation in its various forms, said entity becomes a political machine and follows the model of becoming fat, lazy and in the end irrelevant... It's not just Microsoft's who's future can be predicted... Apple's come close already itself... from Zero Hedge;
