I started a thread dedicated to toned silver coins and rounds..It seems to have died in the .. :)

The examples shown there were mostly naturally toned ,but a few could have been induced by processes such as this.I am tempted to have a bash at this ,but my natural aversion to messing with chemicals will probably win out.

You either "get" toned silver or not. I do!

C'Mon guys, The Matt Black silver would be kinda cool, and a few rainbow color bars. Dont act like you wouldn't do it if you had the chance.

The funny thing is it sounds like this guy has attempted to disguise his voice. Wise fella... he must be scared of the SLA. Doing this to silver... tsk tsk

The guy has the creepy "electronically disguised" kidnapper voice going on.

The guy that made the video had this to say when someone asked him why he masked his voice.

    Q.
    "I really like your videos.
However I find the voice-mask to be fairly annoying, any chance of taking it off?
    Just for the readers/viewers"

    A.
"I find it amusing that everyone assumes it's a mask.
Anyway, I am aware people don't like my voice and i tried pitching it up, but I ended up sounding like a 4-yeard old girl. which was even more annoying.
If it bothers ya, you can go to the actual video and turn on subtitles. Then turn off the sound.
That's the best i can do, until i can find someone else to voice over all my videos"

But I still reckon his voice sounds as doctored as those bars look.

Specifically on the subject of toned silver.Found this article.
Lays out the virtues of toned silver quite well...but also helps to identify the signs of AT coins..

"A beautifully toned coin is a coin that has aged well. The magnificent aging of silver, in particular, is analogous to the magnificent aging of deciduous leaves every year, in the right climates, before they turn brown, the brilliant yellows and reds of the fall's foliage. This doesn't always happen with either leaves or silver. You need the right environment. When it does happen, it pleases the eye. Color is simply more appealing than gray."
